Burnley left it late before beating Plymouth 2-0 at Turf Moor.

Goals in the final three minutes from Jean-Louis Valois (penalty) and James O'Connor secured all three points for Burnley in their final home game of the campaign.

Burnley started brightly with Ade Akinbyi seeing his fourth minute shot tipped round the post by Luke McCormick.

Nick Chadwick had Plymouth's first noteworthy effort with a shot which was well saved by Brian Jensen.

Both sides were struggling to create any clear goalscoring opportunities with Tony Grant and Dean Bowditch firing long-range shots over the top.

Burnley dominated the second half and they finally made their superiority count when substitute Valois broke the deadlock on 87 minutes when converting from the penalty spot after Akinbiyi was felled in the box by David Worrell.

O'Connor wrapped up the win in the dying seconds with a drilled shot past McCormick.
