Wolves draw again

Coventry came from behind twice to hold Wolves to yet another Championship draw.

Glenn Hoddle's side have now drawn nearly half of all their league games this season, with Saturday's stalemate their 21st of the campaign.

Wolves did try to get the three points and twice went ahead through Leon Clarke and Lee Naylor, only for Gary McSheffrey and Stern John to earn a point for the hosts.

Clarke put the visitors ahead on 15 minutes when he was allowed a free header at the far post and nodded home from Naylor's free kick.

The Sky Blues were level just four minutes later, when McSheffrey's run into the box from the right was halted by a foul from Naylor.

Referee Grant Hegley pointed to the spot and McSheffrey picked himself up to fire home from 12 yards to make it 1-1.

McSheffrey hit the bar with a header from Richard Duffy's cross in the second half before Wolves went back in front on 79 minutes.

Naylor's effort deflected off Steve Staunton for a goal that looked to have given Hoddle's men a welcome three points.

However, substitute John cut in from the left in the final minute before firing past Michael Oakes to earn a dramatic late point for Coventry.

The Sky Blues could still find themselves in trouble at the foot of the table as the draw only keeps them two points above the drop zone, while Wolves still stagnate in mid-table.
