Claus Jorgensen's spectacular late strike rescued Coventry a point at Millwall.

The Danish midfielder's fine effort in the closing stages cancelled out Jody Morris' penalty at The Den.

The Sky Blues nearly went in front in the first minute as Dele Adebola just missed out on converting Gary McSheffrey's cross.

Indeed the visitors appeared the team more likely to break the deadlock as they looked lively in the first 45 minutes.

Lions keeper Andy Marshall was forced into fine saves to deny Stephen Hughes and Stern John, while Andy Morrell failed to hit the target with a clear sight of goal.

Manager Dennis Wise would have been far from pleased with his side's display in the opening half and his players came out with renewed vigour after the break.

However it appeared they would fail to find a way through a solid Coventry defence until substitute Trevor Benjamin needlessly handled inside the area to give the home side a penalty.

Former Chelsea midfielder Morris converted the spot-kick as Millwall appeared set to register just their second league win in their last nine outings.

But they were unable to hang on to the lead in the final minutes as Jorgensen coolly finished just a minute from the end to hand the away team a much-needed point as they bid to avoid the drop.
