Preston kept up their quest for a play-off place with a 2-0 win at Plymouth.

Plymouth's form has deteriorated of late and first-half goals from Chris Sedgwick and Patrick Agyemang were enough for the visitors to take the points on the long trek back to Lancashire.

The Pilgrims are well aware they are in a relegation scrap and they showed great fight at Home Park, but they were twice undone on the break.

Plymouth were still contemplating how Akos Buzsaky's effort had hit the bar and not gone in when Sedgwick collected the ball on the edge of the box and drove forward before slotting a shot beyond Romain Larrieu.

The Pilgrims were still reeling from the first when David Worrell was knocked off the ball by Agyemang who then showed awareness to clip his shot home to put Preston in command.

The goals knocked the stuffing out of Plymouth and they failed to truly test Billy Davies' men in the second half as Preston claimed the points with a degree of ease.
