Two first half goals from Nathan Ellington gave Wigan a 2-0 win over Wolves at The JJB Stadium.
Wigan looked comfortable throughout and the game was never in doubt after Ellington's brace.
The first came on 16 minutes when Jimmy Bullard's in-swinging cross was met from close range by Nathan Ellington.
Less than ten minutes later and the lead was doubled.
Again the goal came from a Bullard cross and Keith Andrews was adjudged to have fouled Lee McCulloch. Referee Kevin Friend was in no doubt and he awarded a penalty and Ellington made no mistake with the resulting kick.
The result was Glenn Hoddle's first defeat as Wolves boss and his new charges remain in 19th place, while Wigan continue in second - just two points behind leaders Ipswich.
