Dave Kitson scored an injury-time equaliser to give promotion-chasing Reading a 2-2 draw with Plymouth.

The striker's 10th goal of the season saved Reading from defeat after Argyle had gone 2-0 ahead courtesy of an Ivar Ingimarsson own goal and Stevie Crawford.

Defender Ingimarsson got the final touch to a David Friio header on 18 minutes, but had previously denied the Frenchman with a fine block.

And a couple of minutes after Plymouth's opener, goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann was the latest to deny Friio with a tremendous block.

On a rare attack, Kitson almost grabbed an equaliser but Argyle keeper Roman Larrieu made a great save and the home side soon doubled their lead as Micky Evans sent Stevie Crawford in for the second goal.

Hahnemann kept Reading in the game with a save from Paul Wotton's free kick and Steve Coppell's side were given a lifeline by the second own goal of the match, scored by Graham Coughlan with a misjudged header.

Micky Evans hit the post and Larrieu's save from Graeme Murty seemed to have earned Argyle the points before Kitson's late intervention.
