Jim Magilton will be fit to play for Ipswich against Preston at Portman Road after overcoming a minor knee injury which has prevented him from training.

The Town skipper missed last weekend's 2-2 draw at Watford, but joined in a session on Friday morning and has been declared fit for Saturday's match and could replace Pablo Counago.

Goalkeeper Kelvin Davis is making good progress in his recovery from a back injury but will not be considered, so Lewis Price will continue in goal.

Preston have agreed to sell striker David Healy to Championship rivals Leeds, so either Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu, Simon Lynch or Andy Smith will partner Richard Cresswell in attack.

Ndumbu-Nsungu, on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, got the nod when Healy missed last weekend's 3-2 home win over Nottingham Forest through illness.

That was Preston's second successive Championship win and they are boosted by the return of Eddie Lewis from suspension as they go in search of a third, although defender Claude Davis is doubtful with a groin strain.

Manager Billy Davies is continuing his search for new signings, with the club in talks with Tranmere over a possible move for Iain Hume, but he does not expect to add to his squad this week.
