Heath the hero and villain

Leicester defender Matt Heath scored a late own goal to give Ipswich a point in a 2-2 draw.

Heath's 60th-minute strike looked likely to be the winner until the centre back cancelled it out when he accidently headed past Kevin Pressman after a Kevin Horlock corner.

Leicester caretaker boss Dave Bassett made three changes but his side trailed within three minutes when Ian Westlake followed up after Pressman blocked from Darren Bent and put Ipswich ahead with a lob.

A last-ditch tackle from Heath denied Bent after the quick forward got past the Leicester defence again.

Ireland international David Connolly missed one chance to equalise - shooting straight at Lewis Price - but did level with a low finish from Jamie Scowcroft's flick-on.

Young keeper Price then denied Leicester with a string of saves to keep out Danny Tiatto and Connolly twice while Westlake cleared Martin Keown's header off the line.

But Price was beaten by Heath's low shot following another Scowcroft header as Leicester led for the first time.

Ipswich responded and, after Pressman denied Shefki Kuqi, Dean Bowditch had a goal ruled out before the unfortunate Heath gifted them a draw.
