Goalkeeping heroics earn draw for Bournemouth

Bournemouth goalkeeper Shwan Jalal produced a top quality save in either half to earn new manager Jimmy Quinn his first league point at Meadow Lane in a 1-1 draw. Jalal tipped Myles Weston's drive over in the 24th minute before producing more heroics after the hour-mark to deny Mike Edwards from close range. But Jalal could not stop Notts County when Matt Hamshaw's free-kick was looped back into the box by Jay Smith and Jamie Forrester volleyed in his second of the season. It was just rewards for County, who played some scintillating first-half football, but their lead lasted just seven minutes. A Cherries breakaway allowed Scott Wagstaff to cross from the right and Brett Pitman equalised from close range for his first of the season. Bournemouth's Danny Hollands and Jeff Goulding dragged chances wide, while at the other end Darren Anderton cleared off the line to deny Delroy Facey and Forrester again came close late on.
