Mohamed Salah scored twice for Fiorentina as they ended Juventus' 47-game unbeaten home run with a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final on Thursday night.

Salah opened the scoring following a surging run but Fernando Llorente equalised soon after as both sides went on the attack.

The Egyptian then fired Fiorentina ahead in the 56th minute and, despite Juve applying the pressure, the Serie A champions could not find a way through.

Salah opened the scoring with a stunning solo effort after 11 minutes as La Viola broke from a corner. The on-loan Chelsea man gathered that ball in his own half and drove forward, outpacing Simone Padoin, before unleashing an unstoppable shot across goal and into the top corner from just inside the box.

Brilliant individual goal from Salah

Juventus' reply may not have been as spectacular but it required no less skill as Simone Pepe and Llorente combined to level things up 13 minutes later.

The midfielder provided a perfect cross from the right and the Spaniard rose to attack a brilliant header which went in off the far post.

Both sides were trying to get forward but Fiorentina were having the more clear-cut chances as Jose Maria Basanta headed against the post and Micah Richards brought a smart save from Marco Storari just after the break.

So it was no surprise when they took the lead, Claudio Marchisio losing possession in midfield and allowing Salah to bear down on goal and coolly slot home.

Juve then had the best of the second half as they pushed for an equaliser but they will have a deficit to turn over at the Stadio Artemio Franchi next month.
