La Liga: Cordoba and Levante draw 0-0

Water droplets are seen on the goal net prior to the Barclays Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Stoke City

The clash between Cordoba and Levante went to script as two of the lowest scoring teams in the Primera Division played out a 0-0 draw at the Nuevo Arcangel.

Only Granada have managed fewer than the 11 goals scored by both Cordoba and Levante this term, and the two relegation rivals again struggled in front of net as the spoils were deservedly shared in Andalusia.

Both teams can at least feel the draw keeps them heading in the right direction, with Levante now having only lost once in their last seven league and cup games, while Cordoba have tasted defeat just once in five Primera Division matches.

Cordoba also picked up their first win of the campaign last weekend after shocking Athletic Bilbao away from home.

But Saturday's match generally made for a poor spectacle in rainy Cordoba, with the two teams seemingly more determined to keep hold of their point rather than take any major risks in going for all three.

Levante posed the bigger threat in the first half but could not turn that into many clear-cut chances, while at the other end goalkeeper Diego Marino had few problems dealing with a Fidel Chavez effort while Deivid was unable to make the most of his chance just before the break.

Cordoba's Juan Carlos was the busier of the two keepers, and he turned behind David Barral's shot at the start of the second half before keeping out a header from Austria international Andreas Ivanschitz as the match finished goalless.
