Antonio Cassano celebrates his second goal

Parma were involved in yet another dramatic, goal-filled Serie A game on Sunday, this time emerging on top 3-2 against Chievo.

Antonio Cassano scored twice as the Gialloblu picked up their first win of the season, joining Chievo in mid-table.

Mariano Izco gave the hosts the lead before Cassano brought a much-improved Parma level in the second half.

Massimo Coda and Cassano again gave Parma the lead, but Alberto Paloschi made things interesting late on with Parma this time holding on for all three points.

Parma had shown how susceptible they can be at the back in conceding five against AC Milan a week ago and Chievo were keen to exploit that weakness.

It did not take them long to succeed, Izco left unmarked to meet Dejan Lazarevic's cross after it was missed by Maxi Lopez, and beating Antonio Mirante.

Rather than search for a second, though, the Flying Donkeys sat back and invited Parma to attack them.

Cassano brought a fine save out of Francesco Bardi before half-time and a few tactical changes in the second meant Parma's attacks intensified.

After putting four past Milan, they put three past Chievo.

Cassano pulled them level from Coda's assist before the Parma forward netted his first goal for the club.

He took Daniel Galloppa's pass down well with his right foot before using his left to beat Bardi.

Coda then turned provider for Cassano two minutes later, taking Galloppa's ball down well on his chest for the Italy international to provide the finish and give Parma a cushion.

It was a necessary one too because Chievo found their second wind and, with Paloschi on as a fourth forward, they also found their second goal, the former Genoa forward turning the ball in from a corner which was flicked on by Lopez.

Chievo laid siege to the Parma goal in the final minutes, but were unable to find an equaliser and deny Parma their first win of the season.
