Two goals in two second-half minutes ensured it was honours even in a 1-1 friendly draw between Bradford and Hartlepool.
Billy Clarke and Mark Yeates were lively for Bradford in the opening 45 minutes at Valley Parade on Saturday, with the former setting up Billy Knott to force a decent save from Scott Flinders. Jack Compton had Hartlepool's best first-half chance but his free-kick went inches past the upright. Alan Sheehan saw two shots blocked by Pools duo Neil Austin and Brad Walker at the start of the second half, before the visitors came close when Walker failed to keep his header down at the far post. Walker opened the scoring for Hartlepool with a neat side-foot finish after 70 minutes, but 60 seconds later the Bantams were on level terms through Clarke's volley. Bradford came closest to a winner when Matthew Bates sent a header against his own crossbar and Flinders kept out a stunning strike from Mo Shariff as Pools held on.
