Werder Bremen bounced back from their defeat to Hamburg a week ago by beating Paderborn 4-0 and moving out of the Bundesliga relegation zone.

Zlatko Junuzovic put the hosts in front after 10 minutes before the livewire Davie Selke doubled their lead early in the second half.

Fin Bartels added a third almost immediately before Levent Aycicek sealed victory 10 minutes from the end.

Selke was given a rare chance to impress in the Bremen starting XI, and the Germany Under-19 international appeared keen to take it, finding the back of the net after just a minute. However, the offside flag cut short his celebrations.

Soon after, Selke took the ball around Paderborn goalkeeper Lukas Kruse, who was grateful for the help of Florian Hartherz to make a clearance off the line and then block Selke's follow-up.

Bremen's strong early pressure was rewarded in the 10th minute when Junuzovic sent an unstoppable direct free-kick past Kruse.

The Paderborn goalkeeper continued to frustrate Selke, denying him again midway through the first half.

However, he was powerless to prevent Selke doubling Bremen's lead in the 48th minute when Sebastian Prodl's shot rebounded to him favourably off the post.

Within two minutes, Bremen increased their advantage to three goals with a poor clearance from Kruse giving Bartels possession - and he did not hesitate before sending the ball into the unguarded goal.

Aycicek nearly added a fourth, but he missed the target in the 52nd minute.

He was to get his name on the scoresheet late on, though, hammering Selke's assist past Kruse to earn Bremen their biggest win of the season - which moves them out of the danger zone.
