Wolfsburg were left still waiting for their first win of the season as substitute Vaclav Kadlec earned Eintracht Frankfurt a 2-2 draw at the VW-Arena.

Naldo gave the hosts the lead early on but an own goal from Sebastian Jung, who deflected a Takashi Inui free-kick into his own goal, saw the visitors level within 10 minutes.

Maximilian Arnold thought he had earned the Wolves their first win of the season with just over 10 minutes to go, but Kadlec headed in an equaliser for Thomas Schaaf's men with just under five minutes to go.

There was a handshake before the game between former Werder Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs and Schaaf, who spent 14 years as coach at the northern Germany club, but once the action got started their past no longer mattered.

Frankfurt were keen to build on their win over Freiburg last weekend while Wolfsburg wanted to bounce back from defeat at Bayern Munich.

The hosts made the better start and took the lead in the 15th minute with Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp unlikely to want to see Naldo's free-kick again.

The Brazilian may have built a reputation for his set-piece strength, but his curling effort around the wall crossed the line near the centre of the goal with Trapp moving initially in the wrong direction.

But the visitors drew level within 10 minutes as a Takashi Inui free kick took a telling deflection off the back of Sebastian Jung to sneak into the far post.

The Japanese midfielder was looking to curl in a cross, but got more than he bargained for with the wicked deflection taking the ball past Max Grun.

The goal gave the Eagles more confidence and they had chances to go in front before the break, most notably with Robin Knoche making a goal line clearance from Lucas Piazon before Luiz Gustavo similarly cleared the ball off the line from Nelson Valdez's effort.

The half ended with a rare chance from the Wolves, Kevin De Bruyne's shot saved by Trapp.

Wolfsburg restored their lead with just over 10 minutes left when De Bruyne put the ball into the path of Arnold, who still had a lot to do from a difficult angle, but took the ball first time and drilled it into the far corner.

It was not enough for all three points, though, with former Bremen defender Alexander Ignjovski crossing from near the goal line for Kadlec to head in from five yards out and earn Frankfurt a point.
