Cullen brace pegs back York

Substitute Mark Cullen scored twice as Luton came back from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw in a breathless encounter against York.

Both sides were reduced to 10 men in the second period though, with Jake Hyde and Steve McNulty shown straight reds. The hosts came closest in a poor opening, with Ryan Hall and Jayden Stockley off target. Town then missed two wonderful chances as Nathan Oduwa teed up Drury just six yards out and he skied woefully over. Jake Howells then crossed for Stockley, who could only head straight at Bobby Olejnik, with the Minstermen's Josh Carson testing Mark Tyler from distance. After the break, Jonathan Smith's shot was parried behind by Olejnik, before York stunned their hosts with two quick-fire goals. First Josh Carson beat Michael Harriman to head home at the back post in the 55th minute and then Emile Sinclair slotted into the corner four minutes later to double their lead. The Minstermen were reduced to 10 men when Hyde was controversially shown a straight red for a challenge on Nathan Doyle and then Luton were back in the game straight away as Cullen flicked home a corner on the volley. City's Michael Coulson tested Tyler twice before Whalley sent over a magnificent cross for Cullen to notch his second of the night, heading home in the 71st minute to set up a grandstand finish. McNulty was sent off for a studs up challenge with five minutes left, but the hosts could have won it only for Oduwa to be denied by Olejnik.
