Bordeaux extended their season-long unbeaten run at the Stade Chaban-Delmas with a 2-1 win over Toulouse.

Second-half goals from Marc Planus and Diego Rolan proved enough for Willy Sagnol's to claim all three points meaning Les Girondins have now not lost at home since Lyon beat them 2-1 back in March.

Aleksandar Pesic's solitary strike proved nothing more than a consolation as Toulouse failed to inspire in the rain and suffered a fifth defeat on the road this term.

Bordeaux began brightly, despite the pouring rain, and could easily have been two up inside the opening 10 minutes.

Firtsly, Emiliano Sala fired wastefully over the bar after being picked out by a decent Jaroslav Plasil pass before Tommy Toure rounded Toulouse goalkeeper Zacharie Boucher only to see his shot hacked off the line by Francois Moubandje.

The visitors were lucky not to be reduced to 10 men at the quarter hour mark after Dragos Grigore was only shown a yellow for a two-footed lunge on Abdou Traore before Wahbi Khazri tested Boucher direct from a free-kick.

Despite their early dominance, Bordeaux failed to turn their chances into goals and it was Toulouse who came closest to breaking the deadlock as the interval approached.

Firstly, Pesic fired just over Cedric Carrasso's bar from a tight angle before the Bordeaux stopper made a good save to push away a 12-yard effort from Wissam Ben Yedder.

The hosts did not have to wait long after the break to open the scoring when Khazri's delivery, direct from a free-kick, was flicked on towards the back post where Planus fired home from close range.

Much like the early stages of the first half, Les Girondins continued to impress and only the left post of Boucher's goal prevented them a second goal after Cedric Yembere had beaten Toulouse's number one with a header from Khazri's delivery.

The second goal did come though, on 63 minutes, when Plasil superbly picked out substitute Rolan and the Uruguay international did the rest with his head to double Bordeaux's advantage.

Toulouse remained undeterred despite trailing by two goals and reduced the deficit just four minutes later when Gregory Sertic gifted Martin Braithwaite possession and his delivery was turned home by Pesic.

The complete fight-back never materialised though and it was Bordeaux who could have wrapped up all three points in the end when Sertic's superb 30-yard free-kick was kept out by the combination of Boucher and his upright.
