Cowdenbeath: Celebrate Thomas O'Brien's leveller

Thomas O'Brien bagged his second goal in as many games to earn Cowdenbeath a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline in the first leg of the Scottish Championship play-off final at Central Park.

Andy Geggan had headed Dunfermline into a 76th-minute lead but O'Brien responded with a very similar goal just six minutes later to leave the tie delicately poised.

Cowdenbeath had the first chance when Darren Brownlie headed a corner over the bar.

Ryan Thomson was then presented with an opportunity at the other end after a slip in the home defence but he failed to convert.

O'Brien then made a chance for the hosts when his throw-in found Kane Hemmings, who almost bundled the ball into the net as keeper Ryan Scully hesitated.

And Hemmings had an even better chance just before the break but Scully pulled off a fine save to deny him.

The Pars went quite close themselves in between, Faissal El Bakhtaoui driving narrowly wide after being played in by Geggan.

The visitors had the better of things after the break and Ross Forbes had a shot blocked before Geggan almost managed to turn in Danny Grainger's corner.

And Geggan then put Dunfermline into the lead, heading home his 12th goal of the season from Grainger's long throw.

But O'Brien then managed to nod home a Rory McKeown throw to salvage a draw for the hosts.

East Fife won 2-1 at Stirling Albion in a dramatic first leg of the League One final.

Ross Forsyth headed the hosts into a 42nd minute lead but Scott McBride nodded Stirling level from close range following a corner with 20 minutes left.

And the visitors then bagged an 89th-minute winner when Nathan Austin's header found the bottom corner.
