Freiburg earned a huge victory in their fight against relegation with a 4-1 win at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Julian Schuster gave Freiburg the lead in the 34th minute and Karim Guede doubled the advantage after 54 minutes.

Joselu halved the deficit for Frankfurt in the 59th minute but Felix Klaus re-established the two-goal lead in the 70th minute and Geude added another goal three minutes into stoppage time.

Freiburg tallied four goals after having not scored in their last five away matches, jumping to 22 points - on the relegation playoff spot, while Frankfurt remained at arms length from the relegation zone with 26 points.

Frankfurt nearly took the lead in the first minute but Freiburg defender Matthias Ginter stopped Stefan Aigner's shot at the line.

The hosts were close again in the 28th minute but Marco Russ headed wide from four yards out and then Aigner could not beat Freiburg keeper Oliver Baumann from 12 yards out two minutes later.

It was Freiburg who pulled ahead in the 34th minute from a corner, with the ball going to Schuster, who sent his bicycle kick from six yards out past Frankfurt keeper Kevin Trapp.

Freiburg doubled the cushion nine minutes after the re-start as Admir Mehmedi sent a long ball to Guede, who raced past Russ and Constant Djakpa and then circled Trapp before hitting home.

The hosts cut the margin to 2-1 in the 59th minute with Jan Rosenthal feeding a ball to Joselu who watched Baumann stop his first attempt on the counter attack but headed in the rebound.

Freiburg made it 3-1 with 20 minutes to play with Mehmedi feeding a through ball to Klaus who struck his ball into the upper left corner from 17 yards out.

Frankfurt nearly cut the gap to one goal again in the 73rd minute but Schuster cleared Joselu's header at the line.

Freiburg added a fourth goal three minutes into extra time as Guede was fed a ball in the counter attack and then beat Trapp again.
