AC Milan dropped their first points under Clarence Seedorf as high-flying Torino left the San Siro with a 1-1 draw.

Ciro Immobile gave the guests the lead in the 17th minute, but an Adil Rami strike early in the second half earned the Rossoneri a point.

Milan put Torino under pressure for much of the second half, but failed to find a winning goal, leaving Seedorf with only a point after two wins in his first two Serie A games in charge.

As a result, Milan remain four points behind Torino, who are now level on points with fifth-placed Inter Milan, who travel to Juventus on Sunday night.

Torino were keen to show that they are not closer to a place in Europe than Milan by chance as they took the game to their hosts early on.

The livewire Alessio Cerci was causing the Milan defence plenty of problems, combining well down the right with former Milan full-back Matteo Darmian, and the first shot of the game was unsurprisingly from the Italy international.

Torino were rewarded for their bright start when Immobile gave them the lead in the 17th minute.

He managed to beat the offside trap and then cut past Daniel Bonera, leaving the Milan defender on the floor before picking his spot in the right-hand corner of Christian Abbiati's goal.

Milan were shaken into action and Daniele Padelli was forced to make a fine save to deny Giampaolo Pazzini as the hosts almost equalised instantly.

Sulley Muntari had a shot saved before Torino wasted the chance to double their lead when Alexander Farnerud headed over the crossbar from five yards out after meeting Cerci's cross from the right.

It took Milan just four minutes in the second half to level matters with defender Rami pushing up and sending in a powerful shot which beat Padelli thanks to deflection off the heel of Kamil Glik.

Milan were now in the ascendency and they thought they had taken the lead 10 minutes later when Robinho tucked the ball away from Kaka's pass, but the Brazilian was in an offside position.

The hosts continued to throw everything forward in search of a winner while Torino kept everybody bar Immobile behind the ball to defend a precious point.

With plenty of tired legs on show, Milan were unable to find a late winner like in their last two league matches under Seedorf, and they had to settle for only a point.
