  1. 90+3

The whistle goes and Portugal will take a slender advantage to Sweden next Tuesday. Ronaldo wins his duel with Ibrahimovic, but Zlatan will no doubt look to respond in the second leg. Thanks for following the game with me. Stay here for report, reaction and more from Lisbon.

  2. 90

Three minutes of added time to play as Portugal seek to extend their advantage. Ronaldo has the ball in the net but only after Pereira cuts it back after a goal-kick had been awarded.

  3. 88

Elmander does leave the field, but it is at the instruction of his coach rather than the referee. Alexander Gerndt replaces the Norwich forward.

  4. 85

Ronaldo hits the bar! Almeida's great cross from the left finds his captain at the far post but Ronaldo crashes his header against the frame of the goal.

  5. 83

Prior to the goal, Elmander was lucky to escape a second yellow card after he went down very easily under a challenge from Pereira. Portugal wanted a red card after the apparent dive but the Sweden forward stays on.

  6. 82

Veloso's inviting cross from the left is met by a diving header from Ronaldo on the six-yard line, with Isaksson given no chance. Sweden's resistance is broken!

  7. 82

    RONALDO SCORES!

  8. 77

A change for each side: Anders Svensson replaces Kallstrom in the Sweden midfield; Portugal send on Josue for Meireles.

  9. 76

Ronaldo booked for a challenge on Isaksson, who is hurt. Elmander is also cautioned for complaining on behalf of his stricken keeper. Isaksson eventually rises to his feet and is fit to continue.

  10. 74

Isaksson makes a stunning double save - in vain, as it turned out - to deny Ronaldo, whose flick from an offside position is parried by the Sweden keeper. Ronaldo has another go, after the whistle, but Isaksson gets up again to make a great block. Didn't matter, but great to see, nonetheless.

  11. 72

Pontus Wernbloom comes off the Sweden bench to replace Elm.

  12. 71

Larsson is booked for halting Coentrao's progress deep on the Portugal left. Ronaldo receives the free-kick short but he immediately gifts the ball back to Sweden before whining to the referee, who isn't interested in the captain's complaint.

  13. 70

Elmander superbly wins possession in midfield and releases Ibrahimovic. He lays off and immediately bursts into the box to attack a cross from the left, but Patricio springs from his line to claim the high delivery.

  14. 69

Nani spins on the edge of the Sweden box and drives in a left-footed shot which Isaksson fields well, diving to his left to gather in.

  15. 67

Bruno Alves thunders into the box in an attempt to meet a floated corner but his challenge on Elm is too strong for the referee, who awards Sweden a free-kick and a some brief respite.

  16. 66

Postiga's work is done, with Hugo Almeida sent on to lead the Portugal attack. His first contribution is to spot Coentrao's run but his reverese pass is overhit. A bright start, though.

  17. 64

Nani is given two attempts to cross from the right. The first effort is cut out at the near post; the second is skewed horribly behind the goal. Frustrating for Portugal.

  18. 62

Brilliant defending from Antonsson to turn Moutinho's low ball behind for a corner, which is then headed narrowly over by Postiga. Portugal well on top.

  19. 61

Another spell of Portugal pressure results in Meireles finding space 30 yards from goal. The former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder goes for goal himself and immediately apologises after his drive flies over the bar.

  20. 59

Pereira gets forward once more but, for once, his delivery is poor, with Isaksson happy to watch the ball drift beyond the crossbar.
