Bordeaux came from behind to end a run of five Ligue 1 games without a win with a confident 4-1 victory over managerless Sochaux at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. Goals from Henri Saivet, Jussie and a Cheikh Diabate brace, all after Roy Contout had fired Sochaux into an early lead, were enough to secure an important three points for Francis Gillot as his team look to put an end to a disappointing start to their season. Defeat for Sochaux leaves them second-bottom in the table and brought a swift halt to their mini-revival having beaten fellow strugglers Valenciennes last time out. Bordeaux were given a warning within the first few minutes but Cedric Bakambu made a hash of Sebastien Roudet's cross before Ludovic Obraniak almost opened the scoring at the other end when he drilled Lucas Orban's cutback over the bar. In what was proving to be an entertaining opening, Sochaux's Rafael Dias was a whisker away from catching Cedric Carrasso out with a drilled free-kick from out wide but the crossbar saved the former Toulouse shot-stopper's blushes. However, Sochaux did get a deserved lead just after the quarter-hour mark and it came in emphatic style when Carrasso failed to deal with a Roudet cross and Contout was on hand to crash a half-volley off the underside of the crossbar from 12 yards. Their lead lasted a matter of minutes though when Bordeaux's Cheikh Diabate raced through on goal only to be hauled down by goalkeeper Simon Pouplin. Saivet took responsibility and confidently blasted the ball just inside the right upright to draw his team level. Bordeaux felt they should have had another penalty when Lionel Zouma clumsily brought down Jussie inside the Sochaux area but referee Phillipe Kalt had other ideas. The hosts continued to waste opportunities with both Jussie and Diabate being guilty of missing good chances but the endeavour of Gillot's team finally paid off 10 minutes before the break. Mariano picked the ball up out on the right and curled a teasing cross in for Jussie to head beyond Pouplin from eight yards with the help of a slight touch off a defender. Les Girondins went into the interval with their lead intact ahead of what was a low-key second period. Sochaux interim manager Omar Daf threw on Southampton loanee Emmanuel Mayuka on the hour mark but his introduction failed to have the desired impact as both sides continued to huff-and-puff without too much end product. A huge chance came Bordeaux's way with the final 20 minutes approaching when substitute Diego Rolan got to the byline before picking out Diabate and the Malian made full use of the opportunity with a controlled finish to all but claim the points for the hosts. Rolan almost grabbed a fourth moments later with a clever lob from 20 yards but Sochaux's keeper Pouplin got the slightest of touches and the ball dropped just wide of the left post. Diabate added gloss to his team's performance with injury-time looming when he raced free of the Sochaux defence before cleverly lifting the ball over Pouplin to grab his second and his team's fourth.
