  1. It's all over and Spurs are 1-0 winners thanks to Roberto Soldado's 80th minute penalty. Steve Bruce and Hull are aggrieved by the decision, but the points go to the hosts. 1-0.

  2. 90+4

Huddlestone smashes it with the outside of his boot. It's well wide in the end but the power was there. Big chance gone for Hull and there can't be long left.

  3. 90+3

Hull are starting to get men forward and Curtis Davies has joined the attack. He wins a free-kick right on the area after a challenge in the back by Dawson. Great chance here. Huddlestone and Brady fancy it.

  4. 90+2

Townsend blazes well over Harper's bar after cutting inside.

  5. 90+1

'1-0 to the referee,' is the chant from the visiting fans. They're understandably annoyed with the penalty decision.

  6. 90

Hull aren't exactly piling men forward just yet but they're looking to get the ball upfield as Proschwitz is shoved off the ball.

  7. 89

Brady's free-kick is straight into the arms of Lloris as five minutes of stoppage time is indicated by the fourth official.

  8. Paulinho goes into the book for kicking the ball away following the foul.

  9. 88

Townsend does eventually make his way back onto the pitch as Hull win a free-kick in quite a dangerous position after Eriksen brought down Elmohamady. Brady to take.

  10. 87

Townsend is back on his feet but it's Spurs doing all the pressing as they look for a second. He's desperate to get back on the pitch.

  11. Hull make another change as Nick Proschwitz replaces Sagbo up front.

  12. 85

Townsend is still off the pitch recieving treatment as the stretcher is taken over to him. One of the photographers is also recieving treatment for a head injury in the collision. This is worrying for Spurs.

  13. There's a double substitution for Hull as Mclean replaces Rosenior and Brady comes on in place of Boyd.

  14. 82

The game gets back underway with Townsend off the pitch after falling awkwardly over the advertising hoardings and into the photographers' pit.

  15. 80

You can't help but feel for Hull there. It definitely connected with Elmohamady's hand, but he was that close to Vertonghen who crossed, there was no intent.

  16. Soldado cooly sends Harper the wrong way as he finds the bottom corner. 1-0 Spurs.

  17. 74

Penalty to Spurs after Elmohamady is adjudged to have handled Vertonghen's cross. That looked pretty harsh, there's no way he meant that. Soldado to take.

  18. 74

Eriksen is muscled off the ball by Meyler and Harper can clear upfield after it rolls into his path.

  19. 73

Still no openings for Spurs as Hull are once again pegged back in their own half.

  20. 72

Hull's firm back five is forcing Spurs to shoot from distance. Dembele's shot is dragged wide although it is adjudged to have taken a nick off a defender and a corner is awarded.

  21. 71

Spurs are piling on the pressure now as they look for the opening but Hull are afforded some respite as Paulinho's erratic strike flies high and wide over the bar.

  22. 70

The resulting free-kick by Eriksen is straight at Huddlestone who can easily clear before the ball finds its way through to Harper.

  23. Boyd goes into the book for his late sliding challenge on Walker.

  24. 69

Boyd clips the heels of Walker inside the Spurs half, although Townsend is furious, he wanted to play the advantage.

  25. 68

Spurs now have two up top with Soldado and Defoe leading the line. Eriksen has gone out wide onto the left, leaving them in a 4-4-2 formation as they look to break this deadlock.

  26. Defoe replaces Aaron Lennon for Spurs.

  27. 66

Spurs are set to make a change as Jermain Defoe prepares to come on. He could be exactly the type of player AVB needs in this kind of situation.

  28. 65

An ambitious strike from Townsend zips wide of Harper's goal after cutting inside of McShane. The White Hart Lane crowd are becoming slightly impatient, although that is probably more of a testament to Hull over anything else.

  29. 64

After a break in play while Meyler and Soldado get seen to, the game gets back underway.

  30. 63

David Meyler is recieving treatment after a heavy challenge from Dembele. He looks okay to continue but Steve Bruce cannot afford any more injury woes.

  31. 62

It's becoming quite scrappy in the middle of the pitch with a lot of heavy touches and numerous needless fouls. Can't help but feel that the opening goal will come from a set-piece due to the sheer amount of them.

  32. 61

Huddlestone diverts the free-kick out for a corner before clearing upfield after Harper's punch.

  33. 61

Rosenior bundles over Townsend near the corner flag. Free-kick to Spurs which Eriksen will take.

  34. Lewis Holtby, who has struggled to make an impression, is replaced by Christian Eriksen for Spurs.

  35. 59

The resulting free-kick is cleared by Spurs who are becoming increasingly frustrated by Hull's resilience.

  36. 57

Chiriches is shown the yellow card for the foul on Sagbo.

  37. 57

Chiriches' touch is heavy, allowing Sagbo to nick in and the defender hauls him down in a dangerous position. Free-kick to Hull.

  38. 56

There are claims for a penalty as Soldado goes to ground under the challenge of McShane. Waved away by Michael Oliver despite the crowd's protestations.

  39. 55

After briefly leaving the pitch, Davies is back on following that injury, replays made it look much worse than it actually was.

  40. 54

Davies is down with an injury after trying to chase back as Townsend strode forward.

  41. 53

Harper is called into action again after a great piece of play by Townsend. With Davies over-committed at the other end of the field, Townsend exploited the gap before playing in Soldado whose low effort is palmed away.

  42. 52

Walker does hit it but doesn't get the powered required and Harper gratefully collects as it bounces into his arms.

  43. 51

Townsed wins a free-kick from Meyler right in the middle of the Hull half. It's over 30 yards out but Walker and Holtby both look tempted to shoot.

  44. 50

Soldado concedes a free-kick inside the Hull area for a foul on Davies and Hull are given the chance to ease the pressure. Defoe and Sigurdsson warming up for the hosts.

  45. 49

Figueroa has done brilliantly to nullify Townsend down the right so far and he's there again, this time intercepting Walker's pass looking for the winger.

  46. 48

It's almost a carbon-copy of the opening minutes of the first-half as Spurs have got all of Hull's 11 men pegged back inside their own half. No way through just yet though.

  47. 47

Davies hoofs upfield as Soldado tries to turn him on the area after Townsend looked to play him in. Heavy touch from the Spaniard who has struggled to get into the game so far.

  48. 46

Hull pick up where they left off in the first half as Rosenior whips a ball across the Spurs box. However, he's lacking in support and it goes all the way through, allowing the hosts to clear.

  49. 45

Hull get the second half underway at White Hart Lane.

  50. Just the one half-time substitution as Moussa Dembele replaces Sandro for Spurs.

  52. It's all square at half-time, but there's been plenty to talk about in this opening 45 minutes. It's been a frustrating half for Spurs who have struggled to create too many chances, while Steve Bruce will be delighted with the spirit shown by his side. 0-0.

  53. 45+1

There's a real moment of panic for Spurs as the ball falls for Boyd in the area, he scrambles it goalwards but Lloris blocks before Walker can clear the lines.

  54. 45

Townsend delivers a great cross looking for Soldado, the Spaniard rises to flick the ball on, only to see it bounce wide of Harper's goal.

  55. 44

Half-hearted appeals for a penalty as Dawson goes to ground. Michael Oliver waves play-on.

  56. 43

At the opposite end, Lennon wins a corner as his cross is deflected behind although Huddlestone doesn't agree.

  57. 42

Huddlestone's free-kick is pushed into the path of McShane by Lloris. He's not the man you'd want in that kind of position though and he over-elaborates, eventually dribbling it out harmlessly for a goalkick.

  58. 41

Paulinho bundles over Meyler in the Spurs half, giving Hull another chance to get a ball into the box through Huddlestone.

  59. 40

Play resumes and there's a let-off for Harper whose kick is charged down by Holtby, McShane does well to recover and is fouled inside the area, easing the pressure for Hull.

  60. 39

There's a brief break in play as Sagbo and Bruce recieve treatment for a clash of heads after challenging for the rebound from Harper's save.

  61. 38

After Holtby's lay-off, Walker smashes it goalbound, but it's straight down the throat of Harper who parries the ball away. His palms will be stinging after that one, great strike.

  62. Rosenior is shown the yellow card for dissent following Davies' foul.

  63. 37

Chiriches does well to skip past Sagbo before Davies brings him down on the edge of the area, awarding Spurs a free-kick in an excellent position. Holtby and Walker stand over it.

  64. 36

Chiriches is forced to clear up the danger twice as Hull look to get the ball into the area, although Sagbo hasn't had too much joy in terms of deliveries.

  65. 35

It's frantic on the edge of the Hull box as Townsend tries to wriggle his way into the area. Holtby then exchanges passes with Lennon, only for the linesman to raise his flag.

  66. 34

This is turning into quite the contest as Spurs now take their turn to attack. Holtby and Soldado look to combine but the Hull defence stands firm once again before Paulinho's touch is too heavy.

  67. 33

Huddlestone is inches away from a dream return to White Hart Lane as he hits it perfectly on the volley, only to watch his rising effort just evade the bar.

  68. 32

Straight up the other end and under pressure from Meyler, Chiriches looks uneasy and is forced to put the ball behind for a corner.

  69. 31

Holtby's corner finds its way to Dawson but he wasn't quite expecting it and his effort is some way wide.

  70. 30

Spurs win a corner as Bruce diverts Paulinho's cross behind following what is probably the best move of the game so far with Townsend and Soldado both involved.

  71. 29

The Hull defence is called back into action as Soldado finds himself crowded out after beating McShane, with Bruce clearing upfield.

  72. 28

It's been a frustrating afternoon for Townsend so far as he dribbles into touch trying to beat Figueroa.

  73. 27

What a contrast from the start of the game. It's now Hull doing all the pressing in the Spurs half although the visitors do still look dangerous on the break.

  74. 26

Holtby ignores the runs of Walker and Lennon and his strike is comfortably collected by Harper.

  75. 25

Huddlestone's corner is whipped in towards the near post. A Spurs head gets it clear and they could break with Holtby galloping forward...

  76. 24

It's a smartly-worked corner as Huddlestone looks for the run of Sagbo with a low cross, his shot is blocked before Hull win another corner from the opposite side.

  77. 23

Hull are buoyant here, they've had the best of the last five minutes or so as Boyd wins a corner to be taken from the right by Huddlestone.

  78. 22

Back to that penalty claim for Hull. It was Walker challenging McShane in the box and it's one of those ones that you could quite easily see being given. I imagine Steve Bruce won't be too pleased when he watches that again.

  79. 21

Tottenham then go up the other end and Soldado wins a corner. Holtby delivers but Davies is able to clear for a throw.

  80. 20

Huddlestone's delivery is good and there's a penalty shout as McShane goes to ground, that's waved away before Boyd's strike is blocked in a crowded area.

  81. 19

Free-kick to Hull in a similar position to the last one as Holtby impedes Boyd. Huddlestone to take again.

  82. 18

Hull are visibly growing in confidence as Lloris is tested again, this time he gets down well to push away Sagbo's powerful low strike. A bit of a warning for Spurs in these last few minutes.

  83. 17

There's a first strike on target for Hull as Boyd can only find the arms of Lloris from distance.

  84. Sandro goes into the book for his challenge on Elmohamady.

  85. 15

The corner is cleared and Hull break upfield, winning a free-kick after Sandro brings down Elmohamady. Huddlestone to take from deep.

  86. 14

Harper is forced into action for the first time this afternoon. Townsend tries one of his trademark strikes with his left foot from 30 or so yards out. The Hull keeper is equal to it and gets down well to palm behind for a corner.

  87. 13

Huddlestone again shows why Hull were so desperate to sign him this summer as he clears up after Holtby's loose touch with the German striding forward.

  88. 12

Big chance for Spurs. Holtby floats a delightful free-kick into the danger-zone, Paulinho's run is timed perfectly but he can only guide it over the bar when he should have hit the target.

  89. 11

McShane clatters Holtby from behind, awarding Spurs a free-kick in a dangerous position. Holtby and Walker eye it although it's probably too far out to shoot.

  90. 10

Chriches is invited to stride forward, he moves into the Hull half before Huddlestone gets across to block his path and divert the ball out for a throw.

  91. 9

A strong tackle by Sandro on Boyd gets a rousing reception from the White Hart Lane crowd. Still no clear cut chances just yet.

  92. 8

Hull enjoyed a brief few minutes of respite there, allowing them to get out of their own half, but they're now sitting deep again as Spurs look to come forward through Chiriches.

  93. 7

It's a good delivery from Huddlestone who finds the head of McShane, but he can't divert it goalwards and the ball remains in play before Spurs clear their lines.

  94. 6

Hull get a rare break through Rosenior who is brought down by Sandro. Free-kick to the visitors in a crossing position which Huddlestone will take from deep.

  95. 5

It's all Spurs in these opening few minutes, although Hull's back five have stood firm so far as McShane intercepts Lennon's through ball.

  96. 4

First chance of the game falls to Lennon. A long ball forward from Paulinho is headed into his path by Davies, Lennon hits it on the volley but the Hull defender recovers to block his effort.

  97. 3

One of the key battles today will be down Spurs' right between Townsend and Figueroa. The Hull full-back makes an early impression by shoving the winger off the ball andTownsend appeals for a free-kick, but Michael Oliver waves play on.

  98. 2

As expected, it's Spurs who come out of the traps the quickest. Holtby tries to work an opening before Davies and then Figueroa clear upfield for Hull.

  99. 1

Tottenham get us underway at White Hart Lane.

  101. If you're fancying a flutter on this afternoon's game, our friends over at Sky Bet have got it covered. Spurs are the clear favourites at 4/11 and Roberto Soldado, fresh from his goal at Villa Park last weekend, is priced at 4/1 to open the scoring. The visitors are an outside shot at 8/1, but there can't have been too many backing West Ham here a couple of weeks ago...

  102. Build-up:

We're around 20 minutes away from kick-off, but in the meantime, why not have a read of our preview to whet the appetite?

  103. Stats:

Hull haven't lost at White Hart Lane since an FA Cup tie in 1981 and the last time this fixture was contested, the two sides fought out a 0-0 draw in January 2010. Visiting this ground will no doubt evoke memories of Hull's debut Premier League season when an early free-kick from Geovanni secured a 1-0 win for Phil Brown's men in October 2008.

  104. Stats:

Victory could see Spurs climb as high as third in the table, while a shock win for the visitors would see them draw level on points with Manchester United, although they'll have a big job on their hands as only Southampton have kept a fewer amount of clean-sheets this season than today's hosts (5).

  105. Team news:

So it's just the one change for Spurs from the team that won 2-0 at Aston Villa last weekend as Aaron Lennon replaces Gylfi Sigurdsson out wide. As for Hull, a combination of injuries and suspensions has forced Steve Bruce into making six changes from the team beaten 2-1 at Everton, including a first Premier League start for his son, Alex.

  106. HCAFC subs:

Jakupovic, Quinn, Brady, Koren, Gedo, Proschwitz, Mclean.

  107. HCAFC XI:

Harper, Rosenior, Figueroa, Bruce, Davies, McShane, Elmohamady, Huddlestone, Meyler, Boyd, Sagbo.

  108. THFC subs:

Friedel, Lamela, Naughton, Defoe, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Eriksen.

  109. THFC XI:

Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Dawson, Vertonghen; Paulinho, Sandro; Townsend, Holtby, Lennon; Soldado.

  111. Build-up:

Good afternoon and welcome to the live, interactive commentary of Tottenham's Premier League clash with Hull City at White Hart Lane. Both sides have enjoyed positive starts to the season, so this one has the potential to be quite an intriguing affair. Team news will be here shortly...
