  1. The whistle goes, and Spurs grind out this victory to secure top spot. Unconvincing to say the least, but job done for Andre Villas-Boas and co.

  2. 90+3

Townsend breaks down the other end and delivers a threatening cross, but there's no-one on the end of it.

  3. 90+2

Tromso threatening late on as a penalty shout is ignored now for the hosts.

  4. 89

Fojut is booked for felling Dembele.

  5. 88

Wicked delivery from Johansen nearly gives Tromso a goal, but it's defended well in the end.

  6. 85

Spurs just trying to close out the win here now, as Tromso don't seem to have the desire to chase the result.

  7. 78

Erik Lamela is on next for Spurs, as Sigurdsson is replaced.

  8. 76

Great chance for Dembele to score a quickfire double as he is slipped in, but he hits the post and miscues at the second time of asking.

  9. 76

Helmke replaces Bendiksen in Tromso's final substitution.

  10. 75

GOAL! Another for Spurs, and it's Dembele this time. Sigurdsson again the assister, as his low pass is deflected into the path of the Belgian who strokes home with ease.

  11. 73

Another Tromso corner goes amiss as Drage once again picks out Fojut, but Friedel is equal to it.

  12. 71

Spurs' chance for changes now, and Fryers and Chadli are replaced by Vertonghen and Holtby.

  13. 70

Moldskred comes off for Espejord as Tromso make their second change.

  14. 68

First sub of the night as Frantzen is replaced by Norbye.

  15. 63

GOAL! Chiriches is the scorer, and it's his first for the club. Huge boost for Spurs as the defender taps home from a free-kick.

  16. 60

Naughton's interception and pass to Townsend starts this move, feeding Chaldi on the left corner of box, but he curls it wide.

  17. 56

Fojut rises highest from Drage's delivery, but Friedel comfortably saves the header.

  18. 55

Soldado's getting more frustrated than anyone out there. Crazy tackle on Bendiksen concedes another dangerous free-kick.

  19. 54

Capoue fouls Bendiksen and is correctly cautioned.

  20. 54

Goal for Spurs! But it's disallowed. Townsend's cross eventually falls to Soldado who fires across goal for Sigurdsson to tap home, but the Spaniard inadvertently handled the ball as it came down.

  21. 53

Chadli slips in Soldado, but the link-up play between the two ends there as Soldado's back-flick confuses the Belgian.

  22. 50

Cynical foul from Dawson as Ondrasek bursts forward earns the captain a booking.

  23. 47

Friedel and Dawson make a hash of a comfortable Frantzen cross to concede a corner, but it's cleared.

  24. Who was your star man in the first half then? And what can AVB do to secure the three points? What changes would you make? Let me know via Twitter at @MattStead91 or by e-mail at

  25. 0-0 at half-time then, and Spurs really are labouring so far. No real chances as the hosts are providing difficult opposition.

  26. 43

Townsend plays Soldado into space, and the Spaniard does brilliantly to avoid his marker but he can't quite find a Spurs player on the end of his pass.

  27. 40

Chiriches is a little too rash with the tackle on Andersen, and Tromso have a free-kick wide on the right, 25 yards out.

  28. 38

Chadli nearly grabs a big chance to open the scoring, but his finish is found wanting to say the least.

  29. 37

Tromso are starting to frustrate Spurs here. They haven't got much of a threat going forward, but are capable of stifling the favourites defensively.

  30. 34

Chadli gets on the end of a low cross from Townsend but his header angles just wide.

  31. 31

A couple of crosses from the left from Kristiansen head into the Spurs box but they're both defended well.

  32. 30

Spurs really starting to stretch the Tromso back line now, but the Norwegians are standing firm for now.

  33. 25

Townsend unleashes a stinging 25-yard effort, which Tromso keeper Lekstrom grasps at the second opportunity.

  34. 20

Spurs starting to turn the screw now. Capoue is found on the edge of the box and his deflected shot falls just wide.

  35. 18

Inches away from Sigurdsson as Townsend opens up the space for the Icelander to zip a shot away.

  36. 16

Sigurdsson picks up the ball after some good work from Capoue, but his shot is high and wide.

  37. 14

Capoue loses his marker after a corner is floated in and Soldado gets a flick on, but he can't quite reach it.

  38. 10

Naughton finds plenty of space down the left but his cross is over hit.

  39. 8

Dembele and Townsend are involved in some promising build-up play, but Tromso look solid.

  40. 6

Tromso have started really well, with Spurs seemingly still yet to settle down.

  41. 4

Ondrasek falls in the area under pressure but the referee waves play on.

  42. 3

Snow falling on a chilly evening up in Norway. Dembele breaks into the Tromso box but his pass is defended well.

  43. 1

Huge chance early on for the home side, Dawson's mistake letting in Ondrasek who fires narrowly wide.

  44. 1

Spurs kick us off then, shooting from left to right.

  45. Sky Bet make Tottenham heavy favourites to win tonight at 1/3 with Tromso 10/1 and the draw 4/1. Spurs, who are 6/1 to win the competition, enjoyed a 3-0 win in the reverse fixture and are 15/2 to repeat that result while Roberto Soldado is the 7/2 favourite to open the scoring.

  46. It's a first appearance on the bench for 19-year-old Gareth Bale-lookalike winger Kenny McEvoy then, while Shaq Coulthirst will also be hoping for his first-team debut this evening.

  47. Tromso: Benny, William, Adnan, Jaroslaw, Ruben, Magnus, KB Thomas, Remi, D Thomas, Morten, Zdenek. Subs: Bakkelund, Norbye, Antonsen, Helmke, Johnsen, Johnsen, Espejord.

  48. Spurs: Friedel, Naughton, Chiriches, Dawson, Fryers, Capoue, Dembele, Chadli, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Soldado. Subs: Archer, Fredericks, Vertonghen, Holtby, Lamela, McEvoy, Coulthirst.

  49. We'll have team news coming up within the hour here, but in the meantime you can send in your thoughts and predictions for today's match. Who do you think will be the star today? And does AVB deserve longer in the Tottenham hotseat? Let me know via Twitter at MattStead91 or by e-mail at

  50. Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has come under incredible pressure in the past week or so, following a 6-0 drubbing at Manchester City last weekend. He has publicly stated that his position as manager is secure despite increasing calls for him to go, so can the Europa League act as a welcome reprieve?

  51. The visitors, Spurs, on the other hand, are one of just three teams who have a perfect record, with four wins from four so far. Of course, with qualification already secured, the temptation to rest key players will be there tonight, but a strong side will surely still be fielded.

  52. You could be forgiven for going into this match thinking that there will only be one winner, looking at the records so far. Tromso are, as yet, without a win in this year's group stages, with just one point to their name so far.
