Kamil Glik celebrates for Torino
A late penalty from Alessio Cerci rescued a point for Torino in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Livorno at the Armando Picchi stadium on Wednesday.
Livorno looked to be heading for victory after coming back from two goals down only to see another twist in the match when Cerci converted the spot-kick following substitute Leandro Rinaudo's handball three minutes from time.
Ciro Immobile and Kamil Glik had given Torino a 2-0 lead after just eight minutes.
Paulo Sergio Betanin reduced the deficit for the hosts in the 25th minute before Leandro Greco equalised before half-time.
Brazilian defender Emerson put Livorno in front in the 62nd minute but Cerci had the last say.
The result is of little consolation for either team as they both went into the encounter desperate to clinch three points.
Livorno have not come out triumphant since September 15 while Wednesday's result extended Toro's winless run to six games.
The visitors opened the scoring with four minutes on the clock when Cerci's perfect cross left Immobile with an easy tap-in.
The visitors doubled their lead four minutes later after Livorno's defence fell asleep during a corner from Cerci allowing Glik to head the ball past Livorno goalkeeper Francesco Bardi.
Livorno pulled one back before the half-hour mark when Pasquale Schiattarella supplied a cross to the far post for Paulo to turn in.
The hosts continued to press and were rewarded in the 33rd minute.
Innocent Emeghara's cross found Greco in the box and his left-footed strike towards the far post beat Torino goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.
The home side pushed forward more aggressively after the restart and found the back of the net again after the hour mark through Emerson's stinging drive from 30 yards.
Toro should have restored parity in the 68th minute but Danilo D'Ambrosio's effort struck the bar.
Cerci made no mistake with his chance though as he slotted home the penalty for his seventh goal of the campaign.
