There goes the final whistle on a goalless draw at St Mary's, where Jussi Jaaskelainen scoops the man-of-the-match award after pulling off three fine saves to deny Osvaldo, Schneiderlin and Lambert. James Collins wasted the best chance for the visitors, scooping a shot high over the bar from inside the box.

  17. 75

Diame overhits a cross from the left flank, something we've sadly seen far too much today.

  18. 73

It's that man Jaaskelainen again, this time keeping Saints at bay after palming away a right-footed strike from Lambert, who was set up nicely by Rodriguez

  19. 72

    Ward-Prowse comes on for Lallana

  20. 70

Joey O'Brien angers the home fans and players with a wild lunge on Lallana - into the book he goes

  26. 62

    Razvan Rat replaces Guy Demel

  27. 60

Lambert drops deep and sprays a long pass which leads to a chance which is blocked by Collins, then another shot is blocked by Reid

  28. 58

West Ham are really missing the combined threat of injured duo Andy Carroll and Stewart Downing - not much cutting edge in the attacking third today

  29. 57

Who can break the deadlock? Rickie Lambert is Sky Bet's 6/1 favourite to do so followed by Jay Rodriguez (8/1) and Pablo Ozvaldo (10/1) while Modibo Maiga and Kevin Nolan are considered the visitors' main threats at 16/1 apiece.

  30. 55

Nolan is flagged offside to spare his embarrassment for making a right mess of a right-footed shot on the edge of the 18-yard box

  31. 54

Jarvis is not getting much change out of the impressive Clyne today

  32. 52

Osvaldo turns Collins inside out then feeds Lallana, whose first touch is too heavy and allows Jaaskelainen to clear the danger

  33. 50

Saints are building up a head of steam but need to make it count. Osvaldo tries to find Lambert in the box but the ball skids off the wet surface for a goal kick

  34. 49

Rickie Lambert's header from the corner thumps the upright, then Wanyama's follow-up shot bounces off Collins and onto his arm - no penalty though

  35. 49

Wanyama chest controls then volleys from 25 yards out, with Jaaskelainen tipping the ball over for a corner

  36. 48

West Ham win a free-kick, which Noble delivers into the box, only for Saints to clear in scrappy fashion

  37. 47

Gary Neville says Vaz Te was doing a good warm-up at half-time, so could be an option to replace Diame in a short while

  38. 46

And West Ham start the second half, with Wanyama entering the pitch after the kick-off!

  39. The teams are back out on the pitch

  40. Chris Green is back on: This match has been very tight so far - Southampton have been the better team, but I think West Ham will have the last laugh if the likes of Diame and Maiga start being consistent in front of goal.

  41. He's 24, a Croatia international, signed from Lyon in the summer for a reported £8.5m...looks worth every penny

  42. A few details on Dejan Lovren, who has looked the business so far in the Saints backline...

  43. Matt Le Tissier says Schneiderlin's tackle on Diame was a 'dangerous' one and he was lucky not to see a card. The good news is Diame is OK and is playing on

  44. Nick Cary says: This game is close and I can see one goal deciding it. Southampton look the liveliest, maybe Lambert to get the winner.

  45. 45+2

And there goes the half-time whistle. Diame and Osvaldo had the best chances of the first half, but were both denied by superb saves from Boruc and Jaaskelainen respectively.

  46. 45+2

Lallana loops a header over the crossbar

  48. 45

Collins loses possession in a dangerous area but Rodriguez's first touch is poor and the chance is gone

  49. 44

Rodriguez breaks down the left and eventually feeds Shaw, who slices his left-footed cross out for a goal kick

  50. 43

Wanyama's break from midfield forces a corner but Collins wins the aerial contest and West Ham clear their lines

  51. 42

Some of the first touches have been poor today, then Noble hits a loose pass out for a throw-in

  52. 40

Saints clear a cross from Diame and a shot from Noble, then Morrison curls a 25-yard shot just over the crossbar

  53. 39

Noble floats a free-kick into the Southampton box but it poses little threat and is pumped clear with ease

  54. 37

Lallana delivers from the left and it's cleared for a goal kick. West Ham's players are a little rattled over the Diame incident and Nolan is urging them to calm down

  55. 36

Demel gives away a free-kick for a clumsy foul on Lambert

  56. 35

Diame is trying to run the injury off and is limping around the pitch a bit

  57. 34

Having seen the replay of the tackle it appears Schneiderlin is lucky not to have seen yellow...he got the ball but got a fair chunk of Diame in the process

  58. 33

Diame goes down under a hefty challenge from Schneiderlin but the referee plays on - much to the anger of West Ham's players

  59. 32

Osvaldo tries a cheeky back-heeled throughball which nearly comes off but runs through to Jaaskelainen as no one read it

  60. 30

A tight offside call is given against Jarvis, but Boruc saved his shot anyway

  61. 29

Lallana whips in a corner - both teams have now had two each - but Lambert is penalised for climbing

  62. 28

Diame goes into the book for a trip on Lallana

  63. 26

Lovren looks to be a great signing for Saints, reads the game well and is comfortable on the ball

  64. 25

The corner is cleared then Reid pumps a high ball out to Jarvis on the left touchline, but it goes out for a throw-in

  65. 24

Clyne crunches into a tackle with Jarvis to concede a corner

  66. 23

Lambert pounces on a slip by Collins, feeds Osvaldo then gets a lucky ricochet back into his path. His right-footed volley is well saved low down by Jaaskelainen, though

  67. 21

Shaw floats a decent cross into the box but West Ham's defence revel in aerial tests and clear it confidently

  68. 20

Diame lets fly with an ambitious 35-yard drive which whistles inches over the crossbar. Boruc always confident

  69. 19

A decent Hammers move ends with Demel lofting a cross from the right flank over everyone in the box for a throw-in

  70. 18

Wanyama doing a great job so far, offering the back four some rock-solid protection

  71. 17

Noble wins possession to end some fluent Saints passing, although it's in the middle of the pitch so no real threat

  72. 16

West Ham struggling to get hold of the ball at the moment

  73. 15

Ravel Morrison gets a warning from Marriner for a fairly wild lunge on Rickie Lambert

  74. 14

Saints are definitely bossing the game now and starting to get their passing game going in slick conditions

  75. 12

That was a great chance for the hosts and it was a superb cross from the left flank by Jay Rodriguez...really should be 1-0

  76. 10

Saints string together a fine passing move which creates a chance for Osvaldo, whose sidefooted shot is brilliantly turned away for a corner by Jaaskelainen

  77. 9

West Ham look hungrier in the early stages and are closing down well. Jarvis breaks down the left but his cross disappoints again and it's easy for Boruc to collect.

  78. 8

Jarvis lets a good attack fizzle out by crossing too deep for a Saints goal kick. Solid start by the Hammers, though

  79. 7

Diame goes on a powerful run into the box and tests Boruc with a close-range shot which is palmed away by the keeper

  80. 5

Boruc gets his first few touches of the ball and uses Wanyama as an option twice rather than pumping it upfield

  81. 4

Collins' free-kick is dealt with brilliantly by Luke Shaw, who will also be looking to shine further up the field today

  82. 3

Lallana's free-kick is well cleared by the away defence, who will be a tough nut to crack today

  83. 2

Lovren is looking lively and trying to get forward for Saints

  84. 1

West Ham win the first throw-in but then Maiga gives away a free-kick

  85. The game has kicked off

  86. Billy Mills from Portsmouth says: Can't see anything but a Southampton win today, think West Ham will struggle due to a lack of strikers so am going for 3-1 Souhthampton.

  87. Chris Green from Huddersfield says: The Saints have a very good record at home, so if I was a Hammers fan, I would be extremely worried. Coming to St Mary's is a difficult challenge for any team - even for the big boys. So, in order for the Hammers to claim something from this game, they'll have to stay tight at the back and not allow the likes of Rickie Lambert to exploit them. I see this game being a tight one; however, if both teams put on a show, then we may be in for a tight encounter.

  88. Southampton are unbeaten in their last four home matches against West Ham (W2 D2).

  89. Mark Noble has score three goals in the last three league meetings between West Ham and Southampton; more than any against other league opposition.

  90. Not since Mauricio Pochettino's first home game in charge (0-0 v Everton) have Southampton managed a clean sheet at St Mary's in the Premier League (eight games).

  91. Sam Allardyce is unbeaten in nine Premier League meetings with Southampton (W3 D6).

  95. Both teams come into this game on the back of 1-0 defeats (to Norwich and Stoke respectively) before the international break.

  96. Southampton make three alterations, with Nathaniel Clyne, Luke Shaw and Jay Rodriguez coming in for Calum Chambers, Danny Fox and James Ward-Prowse.
