Simple win for City then and Pellegrini couldn't have wished for a better start. Silva, Aguero, Toure & Nasri helped themselves to goals but it was Aguero and Dzeko up front who created real problems for Newcastle. Alan Pardew's men looked poor at most stages, which could be a worry for Geordies everywhere.
On comes Alvaro Negredo for his City debut, replacing David Silva.
A Dzeko dummy really shouldn't have found Nasri first, but it did. The Frenchman was a couple of yards behind the defender but he snares the ball in front of him and finishes well past Krul.
The Belgian comes off to a rousing applause and is replaced by Javi Garcia in defence.
Final change for Newcastle as Sammy Ameobi will replace Hatem Ben Arfa.
Nasri replaces the excellent Aguero. Great shift from the striker.
And Toure takes it, curling it perfectly into the top corner. No chance for Krul and it's 3-0 City.
