  1. A winning start for Chelsea to mark the return of Jose Mourinho and what is expected to be a very strong title challenge. The Blues started superbly, created a hatful chances and could easily have been four or five goals up at the break. Credit must go to Premier League new boys Hull who grew in confidence as the game progressed but a real worry for boss Steve Bruce was the lack of clear-cut chances they created.

Boyd tries his luck from 20 yards but his effort is well wide.

  3. 90

We will have a minimum of two minutes added time.

  4. 89

Schurrle tries to find Van Ginkel in the box but McGregor is able to gather.

  5. 88

And the home side do just that - moving the ball across the field knowing that it's job done.

  6. 87

  7. 86

The Tigers are now dominating possession but are still struggling to make an impression in the final third which could be a problem that will haunt them throughout the season.

  8. 85

Hull continue to get men forward and they certainly do deserve a lot of credit for the way they did not allow their heads to drop after such a torrid opener.

  9. 84

McGregor deals awkwardly with a back pass but Davies helps him out and the ball is cleared downfield and some of the crowd start heading for the exits.

  10. 83

Oscar has probably been Chelsea's best player today - certainly in terms of his creativity.

  11. 82

Chelsea's third and final change sees another new signuing in Marco van Ginkel come on for Oscar.

  12. 81

Cahill fouls Brady and Hull have a free kick just outside the Chelsea box. Huddlestone whips it into the near post but it is headed clear.

  13. 80

That was Chelsea's 23rd effort of the match - although only six have been on target.

  14. 79

Lampard takes it and the ball flashes just wide of McGregor's far post.

  15. 78

Boyd concedes a free kick 25 yards and this is real danger for the Tigers.

  16. 77

Chelsea have a free kick just inside the Hull half but again play it short. Schurrle finds Lukaku in the box and his cross is headed away on the six-yard line by Davies.

  17. 76

Hull make their final change with George Boyd coming on for Aluko.

  18. 75

Hazard is felled and stays down after a challenge by Aluko but there is no free kick.

  19. 74

Lukaku almost has an immediate impact as he plays Schurrle through and he clips the ball past the advancing keeper but it goes inches wide.
