Dean Winnard: Back in the fray

Dean Winnard: Back in the fray

Team news for Good Friday's League Two clash between Accrington Stanley and Mansfield Town at the Crown Ground.

Dean Winnard will be back in Accrington's ranks when they entertain Mansfield.

The central defender has overcome a bout of illness so boss James Beattie must decide whether he should be restored or keep Rob Atkinson in alongside Tom Aldred.

Winnard's return gives Stanley a full complement of options for the game against the Store First Stadium.

Full-back Laurence Wilson (groin) and striker Marcus Carver (knee) are both back in full training and awaiting their respective first-team returns.

Anthony Howell comes back into the reckoning for Mansfield when they travel to Accrington.

Howell has completed a two-match suspension and his return bolsters the midfield options of manager Paul Cox, who is without several other players.

Goalkeepers Alan Marriott (dislocated finger) and Ian Deakin (thigh) continue to nurse injuries so Lewis Price, signed on an emergency loan from Crystal Palace before last weekend's victory over Rochdale, is likely to start between the sticks again.

Midfielder Jamie McGuire will serve the second game of a two-match ban while forward Ben Hutchinson, who has been troubled by a hamstring problem for over a month, is expected to miss out again.

Lee Beevers is out until next season after undergoing shoulder surgery and fellow defender Paul Black (calf) has been struggling in recent weeks.
