Newport v Fleetwood preview

Team news for Tuesday's League Two clash between Newport County and Fleetwood Town at Rodney Parade.

Newport have no fresh injury worries for their home clash with Fleetwood. The Exiles are eyeing up a play-off place after Saturday's last-gasp draw with Scunthorpe meant victory over the Cod Army would leave them four points off the top seven in League Two with two games in hand. Rene Howe was handed a start against the Iron and the former Burton forward is set to partner their late goal hero Chris Zebroski up front for the second time in four days while Max Porter and Lee Minshull will hope to keep their places in the side after being recalled. Newport remain without goalkeepers Lenny Pidgeley (ankle) and Jamie Stephens (groin) while striker Aaron O'Connor, who has not played since their Wembley final in May, is also optimistic of a March return. Bobby Grant will miss Fleetwood's trip to south Wales to face Newport as the League Two club await news on just how serious his knee injury is. The on-loan striker lasted just over half-an-hour on his Cod Army debut on Saturday before being forced off. Grant had been out since December with a knee problem, which has raised fears this injury could be serious. Fleetwood were still waiting to determine the seriousness of the injury on Monday but will hope he does not join fellow long-term absentees striker David Ball (ankle) and midfielder Jeff Hughes (broken leg). Boss Graham Alexander may also be without midfielder Steven Schumacher, with a hip injury causing him some concern.
