Tranmere v Gillingham preview

Team news for Friday's League One clash between Tranmere and Gillingham at Prenton Park.

Andy Robinson is in line to play for the first time since mid-September when Tranmere meet Gillingham in the Sky Bet League One clash on Friday night. The midfielder has been troubled by a knee injury but boss Ronnie Moore confirmed he will be involved in some capacity for the Gills' trip to Prenton Park. Moore could be without his skipper, though, as James Wallace is touch-and-go with the groin injury which forced him to miss last weekend's defeat to Carlisle while veteran defender Ian Goodison (groin) is out until the new year. However, with midfielder Steve Jennings (groin) now back in full training too, Moore has plenty of options at his disposal as he looks to shore up a side which has conceded nine goals in their previous two outings. Gillingham boss Peter Taylor is monitoring several players ahead of the club's trip to fellow strugglers Tranmere on Friday night. Both Chris Whelpdale (knock) and fellow midfielder Danny Hollands (knee) were forced off in the first half of last weekend's 2-2 draw against Peterborough, with the latter struggling with a more serious injury. It is hoped Craig Fagan, Charlie Lee and Amine Linganzi will be passed fit to feature at Prenton Park having missed out of late with hamstring trouble. Gills, just two points and three places above Rovers in the table, go into the clash having won just one of their last six matches.
