Derby delight for Lorient

Lorient celebrate Kevin Monnet-Paquet's goal
Two early goals earned Lorient derby honours in their clash with Guingamp and a return to the top 10 of Ligue 1
Yann Jouffre's eighth-minute strike was added to four minutes later by Kevin Monnet-Paquet as Lorient got back to winning ways with a 2-0 triumph at the Stade du Moustoir.
Lorient had won five matches on the trot in the run-up to Christmas but since then had then gone three games without a victory, drawing 2-2 with Lyon in their final outing of 2013 before 1-0 losing to both Yzeure (Coupe de France) and Nantes (Ligue 1) in the new year.
However, they got their campaign back on track on Saturday evening with a victory which provisionally lifts them up to ninth ahead of Lyon and Toulouse, both of whom play on Sunday.
The opening goal of the match was the result of an excellent team move involving Monnet-Paquet, Vincent Aboubakar and Jouffre which ended up with the latter firing a low left-footed drive past visiting keeper Guy N'dy Assembe.
That was an early blow for a Guingamp side with only one Ligue 1 win in nine and none since November, but worse was to follow for the visitors as Lorient quickly doubled their lead.
Raphael Guerreiro's throw-in set Monnet-Paquet away and he raced towards goal before thundering a shot into the roof of the net.
It was an impressive strike, and there was no way back for Guingamp after that with Lorient having chances to record an even more comfortable win with Jeremie Aliadiere firing inches wide, leading scorer Aboubakar hitting the post and Alain Traore being denied by N'Dy.
Guingamp were not with an attacking threat of their own in the derby though, and they will feel somewhat unfortunate not to have at least got on the scoresheet.
They were denied just before half-time by a superb reflex save from Florent Chaigneau to keep out Lionel Mathis' shot, and then Thibault Giresse saw his 30-yard strike fizz just wide.
Guingamp were also prevented from scoring by another stunning save - this time form Chaigneau's half-time injury replacement Baptiste Reynet - to keep out Mustapha Yatabare's close-range volley nine minutes from the end.
