David Rozehnal and Vincent Enyeama celebrate for Lille
Lille moved up to fourth in Ligue 1 as they dismantled Ajaccio 3-0 on Saturday night.
Pape Souare's header was all the hosts had to show for a first half of utter dominance and the one-way traffic continued after the break, yielding two more goals.
Salomon Kalou created the first for Idrissa Gueye and then netted the third himself to complete at 3-0 success.
The win moved Lille level on points with third-placed Marseille, who host Paris St Germain on Sunday.
Marvin Martin handed visiting goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa his first test of what would turn out to be a busy evening with an instant shot from the edge of the area after Florent Balmont's corner was cleared.
And it was from a Martin corner from the right that Lille went in front in the 17th minute.
Souare rose highest at the far post to head the delivery home.
Ochoa blocked a Balmont effort minutes later and the Lille man then crossed for Nolan Roux to head inches over as the hosts threatened to run riot.
Instead they led just 1-0 at the break, but they showed no sign of sitting on their lead in the second half.
Ochoa pulled off another fine save to keep out Ronny Rodelin's terrific 25-yard effort and was just as impressive in preventing Kalou's header from a Balmont cross from going in.
The pressure was relentless, though, and Lille doubled their lead in the 57th minute when Kalou dribbled in from the left before setting up Gueye to lash a right-footed shot past a powerless Ochoa.
And the impressive Kalou sealed the win in the 70th minute, following in to score with a diving header after Ochoa had punched away Rodelin's shot.
