Check Diabate's second-half equaliser denied Evian a first-ever victory over Bordeaux as the game ended 1-1.

Check Diabate's second-half equaliser denied Evian a first-ever victory over Bordeaux in Ligue 1 in a 1-1 draw that kept both clubs looking over their shoulders in the lower reaches of the table. Kevin Berigaud scored in the 26th minute to give Evian hope of ending their hoodoo, but Diabate's goal 20 minutes from time ensured the spoils were shared. There was further drama with the dismissal of Maxime Poundje 10 minutes from time but Evian could not take advantage. Evian had an early chance when Daniel Wass volleyed wide from Aldo Angoula's cross in the second minute, but the match settled down until Bertrand Laquait made a good save to deny Ludovic Obraniak in the 23rd minute. Moments later, Evian were ahead as they launched a swift counter-attack, finished when Cedric Barbosa found Berigaud close to goal and he held off several defenders to poke home. Bordeaux responded but Laquait made a fine save to keep out Diabate's header before launching himself somewhat spectacularly to deny Obraniak. Ludovic Sane headed just wide as Bordeaux began the second half on the front foot but they almost fell 2-0 behind when Nicolas Benezet rounded Cedric Carrasso, with Henrique racing back to keep his shot out of the net. Laquait denied Landry N'Guemo in the 64th minute but Bordeaux were soon level, Diabate heading home after Laquait parried Ferreira Jussie's volleyed effort. Poundje then saw red in the 80th minute after catching Djakaridja Kone in the face, but Bordeaux hung on for a point.
