A goal from Martin Braithwaite clinched a first home win of the Ligue 1 season for Toulouse as Lorient went down 1-0.

A second-half goal from Martin Braithwaite clinched a first home win of the Ligue 1 season for Toulouse as Lorient went down 1-0. Le Tefece had collected just three points from their opening five matches but registered their first victory last time out, Braithwaite scoring in Friday's come-from-behind win at St Etienne, and five days later the Dane struck again to make it two in a row. Lorient, who saw a late equaliser from Vincent Aboubakar ruled out for offside, have now lost four away matches this term and sit two points clear of the relegation zone. Wissam Ben Yedder found the back of the net for Toulouse after four minutes but the offside flag stopped them taking an early lead. Braithwaite then fed Aymen Abdennour for a shot that beat goalkeeper Baptiste Reynet but not covering defender Raphael Guerreiro. The visitors failed to make the most of two good opportunities before the break. First Yann Jouffre dribbled around Ali Ahamada only for Abdennour to put in a last-ditch tackle. And, on the half-hour mark, Jouffre took charge of a free-kick but saw his effort rebound off a post. Toulouse started brightly after the break but Braithwaite could only find a post with a header from close range, before Issiaga Sylla forced Reynet to make a save with his outstretched foot. They would take the lead in the 72nd minute, though, Ben Yedder heading Abdennour's pass into Braithwaite's path for the Dane to fire home with a little deflection off the frame of the goal. But with time running out, Toulouse thought they had thrown two points away when Aboubakar stole in behind the defence to meet Mathieu Coutadeur's through-ball. He finished with aplomb but his celebrations were cut short as he caught sight of the raised flag on the Stadium Municipal touchline.
