Mustapha Yatabare scored twice as Guingamp claimed their first points following promotion to Ligue 1 with a home win over Lorient. Yatabare beat Lorient keeper Baptiste Reynet in each half at the Stade Municipal De Roudourou as the visitors failed to build on their win over Nantes last week. Lorient had all but one of the chances in the first half, but that was the crucial one as Yatabare capitalised when Bruno Ecuele Manga missed Thibault Giresse's cross from the left to fire the ball low into Reynet's net. Guingamp goalkeeper Mamadou Samassa had earlier blocked an Alain Traore rocket launched from a free-kick 35 yards out, before he again denied the Lorient striker after the opening goal with another long-range effort. As the first half drew to a close, Raphael Guerreiro tried his luck from 30 yards, but again Samassa denied the Lorient attack as the home side held on to a 1-0 lead at the break. In the second half, Yatabare gave Guingamp a welcome cushion when he slotted Claudio Beauvue's ball into the net in the 47th minute. Guingamp then had to defend for their lives, with Jeremy Sorbon racing to clear the ball from the line, when substitute Kevin Monnet-Paquet launched the ball towards Samassa's goal from 20 yards out. Reynet then denied Giresse at the other end before Samassa was again called into action to deflect Vincent Aboubakar's on-target header to safety as Guingamp held on to claim their first points of the season.
