Neil Lennon: Delighted to see Celtic extend their winning sequence

Neil Lennon was happy to see his Celtic side extend their unbeaten league run to 22 games with victory at Hibernian.

In-form Kris Commons had given the visitors an early lead but Terry Butcher's side forced Celtic keeper Fraser Forster into a series of fine saves during a spirited second-half display.

But a clinical, late triple salvo secured a 4-0 win and extended Celtic's Scottish Premiership winning sequence to 11 - and their advantage at the top to 15 points.

"To come here and win 4-0 probably flatters us. I'm delighted," said Lennon.

"We had to withstand 15-20 minutes of pressure and my goalkeeper had to make a couple of good saves.

"I didn't think we were at our best compared to our last two games and we had to rely on Fraser.

"I changed the shape though and we took control of the last 20 minutes. The contribution of Pukki made us better.

"Sometimes it's not going to go your way and you need to dig in and our quality came through."

Hibs boss Butcher was incensed by the award of the free-kick by referee Craig Thomson against Michael Nelson that immediately preceded Celtic's second goal.

"We didn't deserve a 4-0 defeat; no way," he said. "We grew into the game and had a good spell. We had chances and Fraser Forster has made some cracking saves.

"I can't believe the referee has given a free-kick and a booking for a handball when Michael Nelson is only a yard away.

"If I really say what I think about the referee's performance then I would be in trouble with Mr Lunny (Vincent Lunny, SFA's compliance officer) so I'm not going to go there.

"We had the same referee not giving a handball against the same player at Aberdeen and nothing given for a double handball against us in the box last week against St Mirren."
