York v Southend preview

Image: Ryan Jarvis: Facing a late test

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between York City and Southend United at Bootham Crescent.

York's Ryan Jarvis is expected to return for the home game against Southend, while fellow striker Wes Fletcher is also available. Nine-goal forward Jarvis has missed the last four games due to an ankle injury, while Fletcher was forced out of last week's 4-0 win at Plymouth with a knock. Boss Nigel Worthington will select his side from a fully-fit squad, barring defender Dan Parslow whose season ended in December due to a cruciate ligament injury. The Minstermen have won five and drawn two of their last nine league matches. Southend continue to be without Luke Prosser and Conor Clifford as they make the trip to York. Influential defender Prosser is now facing another couple of weeks on the sidelines after receiving the results of a scan on his calf injury. Midfielder Clifford, meanwhile, serves the third game of a four-match suspension following his dismissal in the 2-1 defeat at Mansfield. Long-term absentee Julian Bennett has suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury and is unlikely to play again this term, while loanee Luke O'Neill has gone back to parent club Burnley for further treatment on his troublesome thigh problem.
