Image: Marcus Williams: Faces a fitness check

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Scunthorpe and Chesterfield at Glanford Park.

Scunthorpe defender Marcus Williams faces a late fitness test ahead of the top-of-the-table clash with Chesterfield. Williams took a whack on his hip last week at Hartlepool and is a big doubt, while fellow defender Luke Waterfall is still struggling with the ankle injury that forced him to miss Saturday's goalless draw. Striker Deon Burton remains sidelined with a long-term calf injury, so Paul Hayes and Sam Winnall are expected to continue up front, but Paddy Madden is pushing for his first start after four substitute appearances. Midfielder Michael Collins is another pushing for a place in the starting line-up as the Iron bid to halt a run of four straight draws. League Two leaders Chesterfield will be at full strength when they travel to Glanford Park for the top-of-the-table clash with Scunthorpe. So strong is the Spireites squad at the moment that left-back Nathan Smith and striker Armand Gnanduillet had to be left out by manager Paul Cook against Fleetwood on Tuesday night. Both players will hope to be involved against the Iron and are pushing for recalls along with defenders Drew Talbot and Sam Hird, striker Marc Richards and midfielders Jay O'Shea and Sam Togwell. On Saturday Chesterfield are likely to come up against former forward Gary McSheffrey, who joined Scunthorpe last month after his contract with the Spireites expired.
