Luke James: Pushing for a recall

Luke James: Pushing for a recall

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Hartlepool and Burton Albion at Victoria Park.

Hartlepool boss Colin Cooper will choose from an unchanged squad for his side's first-ever league meeting with Burton.

Cooper has no new injury or suspension problems following the midweek FA Cup replay defeat at Coventry and is not expected to make too many changes.

Winger Jonathan Franks has started Pools' last two games through the middle, though, and Cooper could be tempted to recall James Poole or leading scorer Luke James.

Full-back Jordan Richards (double hernia) remains sidelined as he recovers from surgery and fellow defender Dan Jones is still out due to an ankle injury.

Adam McGurk is expected to come back into the reckoning for Burton's trip to Hartlepool.

McGurk has missed the last two matches with concussion after the eight-goal forward was knocked unconscious at Fleetwood, but he could go straight back into manager Gary Rowett's starting line-up.

Midfielders Lee Bell (hamstring) and Alex MacDonald (virus) should battle on and keep their places in the side at Victoria Park.

The likes of Zander Diamond, Jimmy Phillips, Dominic Knowles, Marcus Holness, Matty Palmer and Michael Symes are all vying for recalls.
