Image: Izale McLeod: Could make Cobblers debut

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Northampton Town and Accrington Stanley at Sixfields Stadium.

The Cobblers could hand a debut to new signing Izale McLeod when they entertain fellow strugglers Stanley. The former Barnet and MK Dons frontman could be give the opportunity to make an immediate impact after manager Aidy Boothroyd hinted at a first start following his arrival on Thursday. Winger Chris Hackett will serve a one-match suspension after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season at Chesterfield while on-loan midfielder Kane Ferdinand has been recalled to parent club Peterborough. Long-term absentees Roy O'Donovan (hernia), Kelvin Langmead (knee), Lewis Hornby (back) and Alex Nicholls (broken leg) remain on the sidelines. In-form Accrington, meanwhile, will welcome back veteran full-back Nicky Hunt as they look to extend their eight-match unbeaten run. Stanley did not miss the former Bolton defender too much in midweek as he served a one-game ban while James Beattie's men impressively beat high-flying Fleetwood 2-0 at the Crown Ground. Fellow full-back Lee Naylor could also be back in the fray with Accrington keeping their fingers crossed that the bone bruising on his foot subsides in time for kick-off. Rob Atkinson is still expected to miss out with a hamstring injury, although he is back in light training, while goalkeeper Andrew Dawber will miss the next three-to-four weeks after undergoing groin surgery.
