Dean Leacock: Pushing for a start

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Notts County and Port Vale at Meadow Lane.

Notts County will be without the suspended Haydn Hollis for the visit of Port Vale.

Hollis will serve a one-match ban on Saturday following his red card in the defeat to Brentford. Dean Leacock and Manny Smith are expected to battle it out to replace the central defender.

Magpies manager Shaun Derry also has options elsewhere should he feel the need to make any more changes.

Jack Grealish, Callum McGregor, Curtis Thompson, Andre Boucaud and Kyle Dixon were all on the bench at Griffin Park and will be hoping for recalls to the starting line-up.

There will be changes to the Port Vale starting line- up for the trip to Notts County.

Assistant manager Mark Grew has revealed that some of the club's fringe players could be given an opportunity at Meadow Lane.

Young striker Jordan Hugill could be a strong contender to feature after scoring for the reserves while the likes of Rob Taylor, Louis Dodds and Anthony Griffith have all been pushing for a first-team place in recent weeks.

Joe Davis, Ben Williamson, Adam Yates and Chris Shuker are also options while manager Micky Adams might want to look at Ryan Lloyd and Gary O'Neil, who have both yet to make an appearance for the club this season. However, Chris Lines is still suspended.
