    Peterboro v Colchester preview

Image: Shaun Brisley: Facing a late test

Team news for Wednesday night's League One clash between Peterborough United and Colchester United at London Road.

Peterborough will assess one of their cup final heroes ahead of their clash with Colchester. Shaun Brisley picked up the man-of-the-match award as Posh saw off Chesterfield at Wembley on Sunday but the centre-back was forced off with 20 minutes to go with a tight hamstring and he will be monitored in the build up to kick-off. One defender who will certainly miss out is Joe Newell who starts his three-game suspension having seen red in the second half on Sunday. Manager Darren Ferguson has plenty of options having lifted the Johnstone's Paint Trophy without Jack Baldwin, Ben Nugent, Conor Washington and Nicky Ajose who were all ineligible and are likely to be involved again on Wednesday night. Young defender Alex Wynter could make his Colchester debut. The 20-year-old joined the U's on loan from Crystal Palace on deadline day but did not feature at the weekend, with the game at London Road set to be his first outing for the club. Sanchez Watt has missed the last two matches with a quad injury and although the problem is not as bad as first feared, he faces a race against time to be fit. U's manager Joe Dunne could ring the changes after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Notts County left his side perilously close to the drop zone, which brings the likes of experienced striker Clinton Morrison and youngster Sammie Szmodics into contention.
