Peter Hartley: Serving a suspension

Peter Hartley: Serving a suspension

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Stevenage and Shrewsbury at Broadhall Way.

Jimmy Smith returns to the Boro squad after suspension for the visit of the Shrews but Peter Hartley is now banned.

Midfielder Smith missed Tuesday's defeat by Gillingham after he was sent off at Peterborough on Saturday.

He will take Hartley's place in the squad after the defender collected a fifth yellow card in midweek.

Striker Darius Charles is not expected back until the new year with the ankle ligament damage which has sidelined him since August and centre-half Ben Chorely is still building up his fitness after groin and thigh problems.

New arrivals Tom Eaves and Cameron Gayle will both be line for their second debuts as Shrewsbury travel to Stevenage.

Striker Eaves and right-back Gayle returned to Town on loan from Bolton and West Brom respectively on Thursday having both enjoyed loan spells with the Shropshire outfit last term.

However, defender Connor Goldson, who started Tuesday's 2-1 defeat to Oldham, will not be available after he linked up with Cheltenham on loan.

Left-back Joe Jacobson was forced off in the first half against the Latics and will be assessed, while Aaron Wildig and Jon Taylor (both knee) remain sidelined.
