Ricardo Fuller: Scored the winner for Blackpool
Ricardo Fuller netted the only goal of the game as Blackpool extended Huddersfield's winless run to four matches with a 1-0 victory at Bloomfield Road.
The 34-year-old veteran striker made the decisive mark in the fourth minute - firing past Alex Smithies after David Perkins had intercepted in midfield for the Seasiders.
Try as they might Huddersfield could not find a way back in what was only Blackpool's second victory in 21 matches.
The Terriers had their chances though - Nahki Wells seeing a goal disallowed while Oliver Norwood and James Vaughan in particular had chances to score an equaliser.
Three minutes after Fuller's opener Blackpool almost doubled their advantage through Tony McMahon whose curling 25-yard free-kick had to be pushed around the post by a sprawling Smithies.
Blackpool threatened once more two minutes later, forcing Huddersfield into a series of blocks before just failing to get the ball over the line after a goalmouth scramble.
Smithies was called into action again in the 10th minute as Craig Cathcart got on the end of a swinging McMahon cross and David Goodwillie set up Gary MacKenzie but he failed to find the net.
Huddersfield began to find their feet and threatened to equalise in the 19th minute as midfielder Adam Hammill broke down the right but his ball across the box just evaded former Everton striker Vaughan.
Blackpool keeper Matt Gilks was forced into his first save after 29 minutes, diving low to his right to hold Paul Dixon's right-footed shot from 20 yards.
In the last 15 minutes of the first half, Huddersfield enjoyed plenty of possession but never posed a serious threat to the Blackpool defence.
They started the second half on the front foot though and forced a chance after 50 minutes as Hammill's cross from the left was met by Vaughan but he could not direct his header on target.
Blackpool threatened soon after as Fuller tricked his way past Dixon up the right and crossed for Elliot Grandin, whose overhead flick drifted just wide.
Huddersfield pushed for an equaliser and forced a series of openings just after the hour mark as Norwood saw his shot from 18 yards blocked.
Wells then had a long-range effort pushed away by Gilks and Huddersfield came close again after 63 minutes as Norwood's cross was met by a diving Vaughan who headed just wide once again.
The visitors thought they had indeed grabbed an equaliser after 72 minutes as Wells fired home the rebound from an Adam Clayton shot but was denied by the offside flag.
Substitute Andy Keogh came close to securing the game for Blackpool with just four minutes remaining as he fired a right-footed shot from 25 yards which Smithies pushed away.
