Steve Morison: To the rescue for Millwall

Millwall fought back from a goal down to rescue a point against Yeovil in a 1-1 draw at Huish Park.

A clinical header by Steve Morison 15 minutes from time cancelled out Joe Ralls' opener - and kept the Glovers six points adrift in the Sky Bet Championship drop zone.

Millwall manager Ian Holloway raised a few eyebrows prior to kick-off by naming an attacking starting XI that saw Simeon Jackson make his first start alongside forwards DJ Campbell, Scott McDonald and Morison.

Millwall duly looked top-heavy, but the limited home side could not control midfield and they failed to manage a shot on target in a torrid first-half display.

The lack of composure in front of goal that has thwarted the south Somerset outfit for much of this season continued to frustrate the Huish Park crowd.

Looking to avenge a torrid winter run that saw them win only one of their last 10 matches, the Glovers looked most threatening from Jamie McAllister's set pieces - and should have taken the lead when his free-kick was headed tamely at goal by Kieffer Moore.

Millwall, who themselves were looking for a first away win since September, looked to play on the counter attack and registered their first effort after 10 minutes when Campbell fired narrowly wide.

Ishmael Miller, who missed a penalty in Yeovil's defeat to Leeds on Saturday, looked a threat throughout the first half and went close to making amends when his left-footed drive rattled off the crossbar.

But it was the same old story for the goal-shy hosts who had only notched nine goals in 13 home matches prior to the Lions' visit.

Having controversially sold midfielder Ed Upson to Millwall on deadline day last month, Yeovil boss Gary Johnson put his faith in young Manchester United midfielder Tom Lawrence - and the 20-year-old loanee nearly scored a debut goal when his fizzing drive was pushed around the post by David Forde.

Johnson sent his Yeovil side out early after the break to find their shooting boots against the leakiest defence in the Sky Bet Championship - and the hosts got their just rewards shortly after the hour mark.

Substitutes James Hayter and Ralls combined superbly with devastating effect - with the on-loan Cardiff youngster calmly guiding his left-footed effort past Forde.

The Lions poured forward looking to hit back quickly - and moments after Martyn Woolford's long-range strike stung the fingertips of Stech, striker Morison equalised after heading home Scott Malone's cross from close range.

Yeovil were inches away late on when Adam Morgan's effort crept wide, as the home side bemoaned dropping a valuable two points and Millwall held out for a share of the spoils.
