Garry Monk: Interim Swansea boss takes on Cardiff this weekend
Swansea City host rivals Cardiff City in the South Wales derby at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday's late kick-off, live on Sky Sports 1HD.
Swansea go into their first game since Michael Laudrup was axed as coach earlier this week, with Swans legend Garry Monk taking charge.
Monk is given the task of preventing Cardiff from doing the league double over Swansea for the first time ever.
Swansea come into the clash with just one win in 10 games and they sit just two points above the drop zone and three ahead of Cardiff.
Cardiff are coming into the fixture off the back of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's maiden win at home to Norwich.
Craig Bellamy registered his first Premier League goal for Cardiff in the win over Norwich, and he settled the last game between these two at the Liberty back in 2011.
Paul Merson's prediction
I can't wait for this game, but don't understand the Michael Laudrup sacking. Three months ago I thought he was going to become the Tottenham manager, but Swansea told them to keep their hands off - and now all of a sudden they've sacked him.
I think all this is a big advantage to Cardiff and I don't see Swansea winning this. Cardiff won last week and after all that's gone on I think this will be a draw - and to be fair, that won't be the worst result for Swansea.
PAUL PREDICTS: 1-1
Monk has decisions to make over three key players ahead of his first game in charge.
Goalkeeper Michel Vorm and forward Michu have returned to training this week, although a starting role for the Spaniard is highly unlikely, while Jonjo Shelvey's hamstring problem is being assessed.
Defender Chico Flores is set to be involved despite a recent training ground row with Monk, and the furore caused by his actions against West Ham last weekend.
Solskjaer could hand new signing Juan Cala an immediate debut as Cardiff face Swansea in Saturday's South Wales derby.
The Spaniard joined earlier this week after having his contract terminated by Sevilla, and could be preferred to defender Ben Turner, with club captain Mark Hudson nursing a hamstring injury.
Wilfried Zaha is set to make his first start having made a big impact off the bench in last weekend's win over Norwich.
- Craig Bellamy's goal against Norwich last weekend saw him become the first player to score for seven different clubs in the Barclays Premier League.
- All seven of Wilfried Bony's Premier League goals have come in Wales.
- Cardiff defender Steven Caulker has made more blocks (36) than any other Premier League player this season.
