  1. Thanks for joining me this afternoon, sorry I couldn't post all of your comments. Reports and interviews coming right up.

  2. 90+5

That's full time. Two goals in two second half minutes seals the win for Saints, who are riding high in the table at present. For Palace, it is a third defeat on the spin and another sign that this could be a long hard season.

  3. 90+5

    FT:Southampton 2 Crystal Palace 0

  4. 90+1

That sums Palace's afternoon up. Moxey plays a neat ball across to Cameron Jerome 18 yards out, but he skies the ball miles over the bar.

  5. 90

Five minutes to be added on.

  6. 90

Lovren and Thomas collide in the area, but the referee gives a goal kick to Southampton.

  7. 89

Ward-Prowse tries a shot from distance but it goes well over.

  8. 87

Sub for Saints: Gaston Ramirez for Lallana.

  9. 86

Rodriguez has the ball in the net from a Ward-Prowse cross but the offside flag had gone up, no goal.

  10. 84

A chance for Palace as Moxey's shot from the edge of the box hits a crowd of bodies and falls to Chamakh, but the Palace striker is flagged offside.

  11. 82

Relief for Saints fans, looks like Osvaldo will be ok.

  12. 80

Worry for Southampton as Osvaldo goes down holding his ankle, the physio is on to have a look.

  13. 77

Sub for Saints: Jay Rodriguez on for Lambert.

  14. 76

Jedinak's free kick is poor and Southampton clear.

  15. 74

Palace win a free kick on the left for a foul on Jerome Thomas, he looks in pain but will hobble to the touchline to get treatment.

  16. 72

Sub for Palace: Kevin Phillips on for Jimmy Kebe.

  17. 71

It may have been a poor afternoon on the pitch but off it the Palace fans have not stopped singing, great support from the visiting Eagles supporters.

  18. 68

Adrian Mariappa is booked for a late challenge on Lallana.

  19. 67

Sub for Saints: James Ward-Prowse is on for Steven Davis,

  20. 64

The game has calmed down a bit after that sparkling start to the half, do have Palace have enough to get back into the game?

  21. 60

Southampton really stroking it around nicely now, it's not looking good for Palace.

  22. 57

Double change for Palace: Cameron Jerome and Jerome Thomas on for Barry Bannan and Dwight Gayle.

  23. 55

Osvaldo dinks a nice ball in towards Davis, but his shot goes over the bar from 16 yards.

  24. 54

Lambert fires a shot just wide - Palace need to be careful here or they will be overrun.

  25. 51

Palace look absolutely stunned after that double salvo by the home side. Whatever Mauricio Pochettino said at the break has worked wonders.

  26. 49

What a strike!! Rickie Lambert curling a free kick over the wall and into the corner!!

  27. 49

    Goal for Southampton!! Lambert!!

  28. 47

The deadlock is broken!! Summer signing Daniel Osvaldo holding off Dikgacoi before powering the ball into the bottom right-hand corner from the edge of the box!!

  29. 47

    Goal for Southampton!!! Osvaldo!!!

  30. 46

Here we go for the second half - will this 45 be a bit better than the first?

  31. Don't forget to let me know your thoughts: Tom.Mallows@bskyb.com or @Tom_Mallows.

  32. And that's the half, Chamakh's 'dive' most certainly the talking point, though I think the referee got it right. Palace will probably be the happier of the two teams but impovement is needed if we are to see a winner this afternoon.

  33. 45+1

    HT:Southampton 0 Crystal Palace 0

  34. 45

Wanyama's shot from distance goes well, well wide.

  35. 43

Ian Holloway is still raging on the touchline, with fourth official Lee Probert getting an earful. Lets hope Holloway hasn't said anything out of line - he is only just back from a touchline ban remember.

  36. 41

It's Saints' turn to appeal for a spot-kick when the ball hits Gabbidon on the arm in the area but the ref says no. It was at point-blank range as the defender blocked a shot so is probably the right decision.

  37. 37

The corner comes to nothing and Speroni clears.

  38. 36

Lambert breaks down the right flank but Gabbidon does really well to get back and block his cross for a corner.

  39. 35

Palace appealing for a penalty again when Kebe goes down, but the referee turns down their appeals. Kebe looked to have gone down a bit too easily there.

  40. 32

Wanayma is given his final warning after a foul on Chamakh. Another indiscretion and the former Celtic man will be booked.

  41. 30

Replays suggest Chamakh was already on his way down before there was contact with Boruc, think the referee got that right there.

  42. 28

Penalty is it?? No!! It goes the other way! Chamakh is clean through on goal, rounds Boruc, but then goes down. There is contact but the referee deems it as simulation, free kick to Saints and a yellow card for Chamakh!!

  43. 27

Another Saints free kick, this time down the left, is played low into the box but evades a host of players before the referee gives Palace a free kick for a foul on Chamakh.

  44. 26

Lambert's free kick is palmed away rather awkwardly by Speroni.

  45. 25

Jedinak penalised for handball, free kick to Southampton just to the left of the penalty area, Lambert is stood over it.....

  46. 23

A chance! Osvaldo does well to find Adam Lallana in the box, he then tees up Lambert who fires a shot fizzing just over the bar from 18 yards.

  47. 22

The game has deteriorated in the past few minutes, needs a bit of spark to get things going again.

  48. 19

Danny Gabbidon sends an attempted cross-field pass out for a throw-in. Poor that from the experienced defender.

  49. 17

Steven Davis is booked for tugging back Kebe in the centre circle.

  50. 15

A lovely cross from Rickie Lambert fizzes just over the head of Pablo Osvaldo.

  51. 14

Lovely inter-play between Chamakh and Kebe sees the former Reading man get free in the box, but he slips before he can shoot and Bannan sees his effort blocked. Better from Palace.

  52. 12

Dwight Gayle sets up Chamakh in the box but the former Arsenal man is penalised for handball.

  53. 12

The free kick comes to nothing as Southampton clear.

  54. 11

Marouane Chamakh is fouled by the Jose Fonte over on the left touchline, free kick to Palace.

  55. 09

Barry Bannan curls a free-kick into the box but Southampton clear at the second attempt.

  56. 06

Just as I say that....Southampton nearly score!! Morgan Schneiderlin's looping header is going in but Joel Ward clears with a header off the line!!

  57. 05

Southampton enjoying most of the early possession, no chances to speak of so far though.

  58. 03

Late challenge by Victor Wanyama on Mile Jedinak. Free kick to Palace inside their own half.

  59. 02

Kebe mis-controls inside the Saints half, throw-in to the home side.

  60. 01

    Southampton kick the game off.

  61. Here come the two teams, led out by our referee this afternoon, Martin Atkinson.

  62. The teams are in the tunnel, not long to go now...

  63. St Mary's filling up nicely ahead of kick off, boosted by a sizeable contingent of Palace fans who have made the trip from south London this afternoon.

  64. Fancy a flutter? Our friends at SkyBet have seventh-placed Saints are firm 2/5 favourites to maintain their impressive start to the season against struggling Palace. The Eagles are a 7/1 chance and the draw is on offer at 7/2.

  65. Despite being second bottom, this is only the second time in five Premier League campaigns that Crystal Palace have won any of their opening five games.

  66. Crystal Palace have now gone three hours without a Premier League goal.

  67. All three of Southampton's league goals this season have come from set pieces. They are the only side yet to net in open play this term.

  68. Few interesting stats about these two sides coming up....

  69. Ian Holloway makes four changes form the side that lost to Swansea last week. Kagisho Dikgacoi is back after his suspension while Jimmy Kebe, Joel Ward and Dwight Gayle are also recalled.

  70. Saints make ten changes from the side that beat Bristol City in the Capital One Cup in midweek - only Steven Davis keeping his place in the side. Davis is also the only change from the side that beat Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League last week, replacing Jay Rodriguez in the starting XI.

  71. Palace subs:Price, Parr, Campana, O'Keefe, Thomas, Jerome, Phillips

  72. Palace: Speroni, Ward, Mariappa, Gabbidon, Moxey, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Bannan, Kebe, Gayle, Chamakh.

  74. Southampton: Boruc, Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Lallana (c), Lambert, Osvaldo.
