Hamilton came from behind to claim a surprise 2-1 victory over Scottish First Division leaders Morton at a freezing New Douglas Park.
David O'Brien fired the visitors ahead early on, but a horrific mistake from Derek Gaston and a well-taken winner from Ziggy Gordon gave Accies their first win in six league games while Morton finished with 10 men.
O'Brien's low drive from just inside the box squeezed inside the post to break the deadlock in the eighth minute, but Hamilton were gifted an equaliser by Gaston.
The luckless goalkeeper made a hash of dealing with Gary Fisher's 36th-minute corner and turned the ball into his own net.
The home side enjoyed the better chances throughout and went ahead on the hour as Gordon found the top corner with a delightful curling effort from 25 yards.
Morton pushed for an equaliser, but Peter Weatherson volleyed wide with their best chance and they had to play the final 10 minutes a man down when Wilie Dyer was stretchered off shortly after they had used their final substitute.
The win took Hamilton four points clear of ninth-placed Dumbarton, while Morton remain two points clear of Partick at the top having played two games more.
