Tranmere v Swindon preview

Image: Danny Holmes: Nursing a head injury

Team news for Tuesday's League One clash between Tranmere and Swindon at Prenton Park.

Tranmere will have to make do without defender Danny Holmes. Holmes suffered a head injury during Friday night's televised 1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury and is set to miss out. Liam Palmer received a straight red card in the first half of that match and begins a three-game ban, possibly paving the way for fellow Sheffield Wednesday loanee Paul Corry to make his full debut in midfield having featured as a second-half substitute against the Shrews. Adam McGurk sustained a hamstring injury in training on Monday morning and fellow forward Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro remains sidelined as he completes a three-match suspension. Rovers have lost four of their last five matches but could return to the automatic promotion places in League One with victory over Swindon, who thrashed them 5-0 at the County Ground in December. Skipper James Wallace remains out amid fears the former Everton midfielder's knee injury could force a premature end to his season. Swindon will be without the services of Joe Devera once again. The former Barnet left-back's comeback from his initial problem lasted just 35 minutes at Leyton Orient last month but, after a fortnight of rehabilitation, he is edging closer to a first-team return, although this match comes too soon for the 26-year-old. Defender Troy Archibald-Henville remains out with his knee injury and Alan McCormack is ill, but manager Paolo Di Canio has no fresh injury worries as his Robins look to extend their unbeaten run to 11 games. That impressive streak has moved Swindon to within two points of second-placed Sheffield United ahead of the trip to Prenton Park. The teams last met back in December when the Robins ran out 5-0 winners at The County Ground.
